A few words: For every one of the few flaws it even has (ones which even the biggest fan can't help but notice), TMA's improvements make up for them tenfold.

Yep. Something I've said a few times is that the difference between a lot of the flaws of the older titles and TDS are that they are more amusing in an endearing way.
It's sappy, but it's like how a lover's flaws can be endearing and wonderful or add and not subtract from the great character they have.

Fireballs that shoot other fireballs? When? I'll have to look into that. Considering they are sentient and territorial, and creatures of most types in real life fight amongst themselves--as we do, stupidly--I don't see the stupidity in territorial guards/guardians duking it out.
For the record, this is just a grammatical misunderstanding.
I meant that Fire Elementals' primary attack was to shoot a fireball
at you. Which I guess I've always felt was a bit juvenile, considering that fireballs that shoot fire are also an enemy in Super Mario Bros. 3.

That's what fire elementals do...they use fire to attack you. What do you want them to do, use a bow?

Give him a big warm hug, maybe? Hurl themselves at him kamikaze-style?
Okay, after experimenting in DromEd, with the Fire Elementals of Karath Din, I've found that 1. they don't fight each other, but like in TDS, projectiles may be intercepted, 2. a firebolt may kill or heal or do nothing to a Fire Elemental, 3. it's the explosion, not the fire, that damages them. In real life, explosions are used to put out fires, as with the burning oil wells in Iraq. The concussion of air blowing the fire out and/or the removal of oxygen to starve the fire is an easy explanation. :)

I was referring to ranged attacks...
Big warm hug?...maybe if it was a large fire elemental.
Kamikaze style?...yeah, for melee attacks.

Blowing a kiss?

...and you'll hear a hiss as you are singed on your lips.
