I'd be deliriously happy to have something worth nicking. Apart from my few bits which are in my *****'s attic (thought I'd better put the stars in case some of you were tempted to practise your skills). :joke:
I'd probably over-insure it and let him have it.
On second thoughts, I'd over-insure it and invite him to have it. And at the same time he can take the car and do something unmentionable so I can have a better one.

thats why i said reasonable mission. make it realistic. They can only have a certain amount of guards because in real life you wouldnt hire 200 guards.
Perhaps set up a points system. You start with 1000 points. Every guard reduces your points by 10. Every square foot of marble floor reduces it by 1. Every electric lamp is 10. Something like that.

Taking a logical approach, I suppose the safest way would be to put them in a safe situated in the centre of a well lit room with only one, locked, entrance, In the room place four alert guards and relieve them at intervals so they always remain alert. The entrance to the room is approached along a long, narrow, straight corridor and there is a locked door at the end, guarded by two alert guards. If either door is opened then a portcullis drops down halfway along the corridor which can only be raised if a crank is operated at both ends of the corridor simultaneously.

yeah, a system like that would work well.
Responding to Holy Thief now. I didnt know that, I was going off the fact that I wouldnt have 200 guards unless I knew Garrett was coming. Otherwise it seems silly to have that many guards at on mansion.

With a great many of The City's more legitimate fighting men off to fight the Baron's war with Blackbrook, and an implied commonplace trend of guards and City Watchmen recruited from unsavory sources, I wonder how many of them would be considered reservists? Interesting notion. And there is a Queen, according to the Downwinders' guild creed.
Holy Thief on 18/4/2008 at 09:38
A nobleman with a large estate would be foolish to take such risks to employ the minimal force, especially as the Baron may rely upon him for financial support. He may be pressured to employ criminals as private guards or reserves to the Barons standing army, given the option 'either hang or fight' and be pardoned, it was a common practice.
A Queen you say? entertaining idea.

But that would need limitations because a dromeder can just put ten guards in every single room of his mansion, make all floor a marble floor, put cameras everywhere...
do it. 3 flashbombs and a few seconds work with the blackjack are enough.
or just a gasarrow.
or just the "run-throught-and-hide-afterwards-trick"
or a invis-pot
i never workedwith droomed before... well i should give a try...
Garret finds a small note at home.
"Dear the so-called masterthief,
you don't robbed me, you don't infiltrated my mansion.
You are not a masterthief.
In my mansion there are some evidence about your last activitys... tomorrow the sherrif wants to see them... you should hurry.
Mr. Bouregard"

If you knew where Garrett lived to send the note why not send the heavies round, and would Garrett be really tempted? He could leave a little note, informing 'I've robbed from you but left the evidence, it's good to boost my reputation':sly:

Garrett didn't steal for reputation, he steals for money or to survive.
Reputation = they knew him. They knew him = Cragsleft.
...and Garrrett didn't like Cragsleft.
But he's proud of his "work".
And this note was more a taunt or a bet against Garrett, yes if he knews where Garret sleeps he can kill him. But Garrett should ask himself, why he didn't killed me already?
Holy Thief on 18/4/2008 at 18:39
I never said he stole for reputation, I just wrote it would boost his reputation, he is a 'Master Thief'.
