This is pretty interesting, if just to see the amount of brainstorming and number of ideas that people come up with.

Some of those look like real winners. The Hack 'n Slash game where levelling up is basically you learning how to hack the system and cheat through it, that Godzilla-inspired Piledriver game, the game that sounds like a modern-day Startopia, the game inspired by Ico... yeah, these are good ideas for winners, and they will be if the execution's up to snuff.
It's really cool that DF is blowing open the gates on their creative process, first with the DFA documentary, and now this. This is how you earn goodwill*.
Monetising prototypes maybe not so much, but it's pay what you want, so that lands just about the right side of the line.
*And free publicity.
