Eeehhh so in Isaac you start over from the beginning every time you die? Not crazy about this one. Feels like Voxatron did the robotron-ish gameplay much better.
As for Blocks That Matter. Holy shit. Is this the most self-indulgent game ever made or what?
See Isaac as a very short game with tons of re-playability and the fact that you'll start over shouldn't hurt as much, and I think more of the game get unlocked as you replay it, over and over again.

See it's a roguelike.. If you don't like pain and suffering you aren't going to like them. There is always Barbie fun house for you guys though

You're talking to a guy who's subjected himself to 30 hours of Dark Souls over the past few weeks. It's just that Isaac isn't my particular brand of pain and suffering.
So I played some of the Voxatron BBS Levels. Some folks are putting a lot of effort into making those. The "Go Home" and "Street Brawl" levels were pretty great. :D

Dark Souls is a console game right? I take it you don't get restarts when you die? What I enjoy about them is the way you get a whole new chance not to be a moron and to test your patience all over again. Roguelikes are a lifestyle, maaaan

No I don't like restarts. I like autoaim and pressing one button to watch a cutscene and win the game!

Voxeltron is ace. I, however, suck at it.
Binding of Isaac is pretty decent, can tell it comes from the Super Meat Boy outfit. Do we really need Isaac's Mom's sanitary pad in the game though? wtfbbq
Blocks that Matter is disappointing

The whole of Isaac is indeed wutwutindebuttololsauce, and that's the intended flavour. Also, wire hangers and Anarchist Cookbooks as powerups? That's pointed enough to wound and hilariously daft at the same time. Sanitary pads? You've got random obstacles made of shit. Your weapon is projectile tears, which also chip away at said turd curls. His mum's sanitary pads are the most inoffensive thing in it.
Ulukai on 3/11/2011 at 17:57
I don't find anything in it to be offensive, just very odd.

Well, yes. Edmund McMillen and co. create what are pretty much the gaming industry's version of Ren & Stimpy. Super Meat Boy is about a boy with no skin, after all.
Ever seen Ren & Stimpy? Oddness doesn't even begin to describe it. It's a design ethos... hell, it may even be a raison d'etre for certain folks.

I just have a weird sense of déjà vu that I'm playing Atic Atac again.
