I can mention things about the pack that I liked as well!
I liked the temple structure in the first mission where the 3/4 Skeleton hammer dudes were patroling, I love to fool around on high ledges, throw things off and stuff, kinda silly but at least I'm not in any hurry to finish the quest. I liked the canon trap, made me jump!
And the entire boat quest was fun, a little short but fun. There is one thing that I wonder though, when I into the boat and reached the room with chests and burrick heads on the walls, I heard barking (was it barking?) and I was expecting that any moment a big hungry dog would jump me and tear my face off or something, lol.
I haven't finished the Hunt For Montrose just yet, had to take a break from it due to schoolwork, but I've got 3 days off so I'll probably finish it by then!

When I released that 4 pack..Hunt was the one that I wasn't completely satisfied with.
Really? The Hunt for Montrose is my favorite of the 4!!! It had a great dark mood... Of course, I'm partial to undead/horror missions...but even at that, I don't get why everyone seems to consider it to be the "black sheep" of the mission pack...
The "kill all undead" objective on expert was a blast!!!!! And the tricky end sections were a lot of fun, too, if I remember correctly (it's been a while)...
The Keep is actually probably my least favorite of the 4, but not because it's anything less than an amazing mission (especially the excellent end)... More because of frustration over missing obvious things like I usually do..
I actually spent hours searching before I found the stupid tunnel underwater to get into the section of town where the keep is..heh And then I spent a few more hours trying to figure out how to open the gate to the keep (I missed the safe on the wall with the key..which is something other people seem to have had trouble finding, too, which makes me feel a little better..heh)...
Hhhmm...maybe I'll go and download the whole mission pack sometime and play through it again (I downloaded them all seperately when I played through before)... All 4 are great missions at any rate!

Apache,
Keep up the great work you do. I enjoy your work and you had me stumped on Hunt. I was about to shoot myself with an arrow or something. Naarmo, please stop with the "go easy on me, I'm a girl." That's pathetic. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Good suggestion, Apache. Close it, delete it and don't play it. I appreciate everyone who has the talent to prolong the life of Thief, and look forward to III and IV and... I fell in love with the games and was happy to find the Fan Missions when I'd completed the originals and was suffering from 'Thief withdrawal'. Thanks to all of you for your work. If I ever find that I think I'm talented enough to give it a go, I'll do one. Until then...pssssst! Naarmo...don't tell anyone else, but I'm a 48 year-old WOMAN. And please guys, never go easy on ME.

Welcome to the forum, Stallowen! You'll find there are lots of lady Thief players that don't expect any special help and are totally addicted to these FMs. We come in all ages, from very young up to the 70's! I'm just a couple of years older than you, myself. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the FMs so much and I hope we'll see more of you here. :) (Hey, there's quite a few of us, but we can always use reinforcements, right? :joke: )

:cheeky: You mean there actually are people older than me...uh, I mean playing Thief!!! Wow. My husband just doesn't understand. Thanks for the welcome and I hope Apache feels a little better once he reads words of encouragement. Until then...keep taffing, taffers :p

This isn't about Hunt, its about T3h K33p (The Keep)...
I found the
sliding glass in Ramerez's room, and went down, and use the stone, theres a gate, I can't find the key to open that gate (the one that leads to the hall of souls)
dkessler on 11/1/2003 at 23:13
it has been such a long time since I played it, but I think the key is
in the same room with the sliding glass where you go down. look for a safe if I remember correctly
Nightwalker on 12/1/2003 at 00:26
dkessler is correct. Look for a small wall safe, just beside the spot where the stone wall raised up when you used the stone key. The safe unlocks with the same key that unlocked the safe in Ramirez' room.

Stuck, where do i find lord montrose? this objective won't tick off after i've done everything else.

Montrose is a dead hammerite priest on the top floor. Frob him.
