Hypothesis: the more educated you are the less likely you are to be religious - by SubJeff

I don't deny sexuality in some cases may be physiologically influenced, I've read about studies on certain transgender people who have had genetic problems (including literally having male and female parts!), in those cases there's obviously issues going beyond personal choice.
Because you are qualified to tell the difference between the overt morphological expression of gender identity and the invisible expression of the same. Are you a doctor or a psychic?

However I'm equally sure that in many cases it is indeed a choice or tragically a learned behavior due to victimization-I recall a video on Youtube I saw a few years ago by a homosexual man who was chatting about his early childhood and mentioned his first 'sexual experience' was at
6 years old at the hands of a 15 year old-in other words
he was molested!News flash - children of all genders are at risk of sexual violence, regardless of their innate gender identity.

While I won't go into any deeper details...
Much appreciated.
Quote:
...I have someone I know who is very close to me who recalled a horrifying story about a man who attempted to molest her at a sleepover years ago whose son later on 'came out'-was that just a genetic accident? I don't think so!
But you promised not to go into... oh forget it.
Quote:
The genetic cases need medical treatment, the victims need counseling, and those who are doing it for the hell of it need warning of the consequences for persisting in their willful rebellion against God and nature.
Once again your superior knowledge of human sexuality and pathology, and / or your psi-powers come to the rescue!

Guys, four pages of posts in a span of 12 hours?

And they say commchat is dead! :D
Anyways, don't know (and don't have time to check) if this was posted already, but (
http://www.livescience.com/18132-intelligence-social-conservatism-racism.html) here.
Not necessarily terribly relevant, but since religion usually goes hand in hand with conservatism, both are often strongly linked to "us" vs. "them" prejudices, and this thread is about education vs. religion, maybe it is.

Better get some while there's still room.
I think faetal is going for some sort of domestic embedded post record. My money is on him.

I could be, remind me nearer the time. Mine's a Guinness. [EDIT - I have only now just realised that this whole response was intended for DDL, I'll just go sit in the corner with my hands in my lap and learn not to knee-jerk in future - apologies]
No, I quoted you just above, I cannot remember DDL posting where he came from. But just in case he'll be there, too.... Still, I think that we don't get anywhere soon, and honestly there's some wearisome paperwork which somehow comes in the way with two hours a day writing posts in a discussion about religion and biology on the internet. I'd still give that article you linked a read and see what this "new way for law and order" looks like. But for now, cheers!

Can you imagine...
Mine's a Guinness.
Guinness doesn't exist.
Yes it does.
No it doesn't.
It does.
No. It doesn't.
Look - it says Guinness at the bar.
Do you have a Guinness in front of you right now?
No.
Guinness doesn't exist.
That's not how it works.
Yes it is.
Can I have a Stella then.
No.

Yeah, I was very tired when I posted my last response and when quoting, it just pools all of your responses without saying who they are to. If I wasn't so tired, I would have clocked that half way through, I was responding to stuff which didn't feel like anything in response to things I had said, but hey ho, them's the breaks.
I only wish I had put the time and energy into my transfer thesis that I have with this thread, but that's always the way with REAL work, any distraction and I'm on it like dog on a table leg.
