I was just introduced to FMs and so I've been reading up on it in here, and the info is overwhelming, to say the least.
I've already played several FMs and I am in complete heaven that FMs exist. I think I'm going to go by that amazing list that someone took the time to make, where they are all categorized by where the mission is set in.

I was surpised as well by how many FM's there are, and that the mapping community for Thief is still active. That's when I started to make FM's as well :) Are you new here? If so, welcome!

Ahh, to be at the beginning of the adventure at this time. New Dark making everything run smoother and easier and looking better than ever. I find myself a bit green with envy. Savor the adventure.

Welcome to the forum, llanita! It's always great to see new people discovering Thief and the FMs. Like Slyfoxx, I also envy you for all the wonderful new experiences you are going to have in the Thief world.
Since you are new to the forum, you might want to know how we do things here. I noticed your post about the FM
Up Shit Creek. Unlike many other forums on the internet, we prefer that you resurrect an old mission thread to ask a question rather than start a new one. Also, before asking a question about a mission, do a search to see if others have already asked that question and been answered. There are usually at least one (and sometimes several) threads already started for each of the FMs. I did a search for
Up Shit Creek and came up with 13 threads for that mission. One of them probably has the answer to your question already. But I also moved your new post into an exiting thread for this mission (

Maybe I should have pointed out that I've played all 3 Thief games when they came out. I just hadn't played FMs.
I did do a search but didn't check far enough back, so my apologies for that.

I love the fact there are always more FMs to play! I've been regularly playing FMs for about three years or so, working my way down the list (I go by size :sly:), and there are still loads of FMs I have yet to play - plus new ones coming out all the time (hurrah! Author love :thumb:). Oh, lucky you llanita, your FM journey may just be beginning, but there are many, many panoramic miles to go. Thief... it's a beautiful world!
