When you begin the mission, head outside near the assassins. Hold your blackjack up in the blocking position and touch it to their heads as their backs are turned. They will be knocked out... only not! The mission will not end.
You are now responsible for taking their bodies through the mission with you. If you walk a considerable distance from the bodies, Garret will make the comment about losing their trail and the mission will fail. I carried one of them to the mansion. After dumping the body out front, I still got the "lost their trail" quote when I tried to proceed with the mission!
Thus, tapping the blackjack to an AI's head via block must not actually count as a knock out, even though it does knock them out! I'm gonna go play Bafford's and do this to the guards and see what my mission stats are like!
hahahaha! I went through Bafford's and used that tactic. It says I did 0 damage and knocked no one out. We need a name for this. How about "blockjacking?"
I tested it in T2 and it does not work. You just hear the "bonk" sound, but the AI does not react in any way. (?)

Hahahaha! Thanks for trying that out! If it doesn't work in T2, that means SOMEone figured it out!

Very funny stuff :laff:
Its great to see that even after all this time new things about the game are being discovered. Great find!

Well done lost_soul! This thing deserves its own dark wiki page if you can pick a name for it.

I do remember blockjacking alot just because if "I" was Garrett, I'd have no problem swinging in perfect time with reaching an enemy, rather than a predefined animation. I had no idea it didn't count as a knockout though.
I LOVE that term by the way, and I'm going to use it more often. Thanks! :D
