Definitely a good game, but Thief is still better ;) Better than SS2, though (Not that any of them are -bad-...)
Favorite Character: Tong. He has good intentions all around :)
Best area: Hell's Kitchen. Sniper Goodness :)
Least Favorite Character: Alex. Not sure why, he just kind of grated on me...
Least favorite area: Hong Kong. That area alone is why I quit the first time I tried this game. Came back later :)
Best Plot Point: Icarus' messages. Freaky!
I played, and finished, on Realistic, which was loads of fun :D I took the Helios ending, what does that say about me?

CONTAINS SPOILERS...
You know, I thought the three endings were surprisingly similar to the ending of Isaac Asimovs "Foundation's Edge". I finished the book a few days later than I finished Deus Ex. Or maybe it was vice versa. Anyway, what happens in the end of the book (SPOILER):
There are 3 "forces" that oppose each other:
1. Foundation (science, raw power)
2. Second Foundation (psychology, mental powers)
3. Gaia (a planet which has a collective conciousness or whatever it is in English)
The hero of the game has been draged to the time&place when the three meet each other and he is forced by Gaia to choose who will win :) Gaia will tell him what will happen if anyone wins
1. If the Foundation wins, they conquer the galaxy, but their empire will soon break, and fall back to "anarchy". This is like the Tracer Tong ending.
2. If the Second Foundation wins, ... I can't remember what it was exactly, but this is like the Illuminati ending.
3. If Gaia wins, the guy will join with Gaia, and Gaia (the collective mind) starts to spread all over the galaxy. This is like the AI, somewhat.
He chooses Gaia.

Well, IMHO, Deus Ex and SS2 are better than Thief : DP, but then that's maybe just my personal taste... :p
I really somewhat hate the endings. They are too anti-climatic to such a great game. The best one IMHO is New Dark Age ending. No, I don't mean I like the plot behind it, my fav should be Helios one, but IMHO New Dark Age is the only ending that could be said well-done. Also there are absolutely no sense of closure to these endings. I don't mean to close up the story, but at least they could show more to tell us that this part of the story has ended, like the explosion of Area 51, the efects of Helios ruling the world, something like that...

I agree w/DarkDeus. The endgame sequences were WAY too short and unfullfilling for such an otherwise expansive game. All three endings were intriguing but what you were shown for completing each one wasn't very exciting and left kind of a bad taste in the mouth.
