I first played Thief Gold half a year ago. I really hated the Bonehoard map because of the difficulty of resurrecting zombies. When I came to The Haunted Cathedral map I just stopped playing.
Now I started playing again, and stopped.
I really hate the zombies. I'm not the kind of person who like scary movies and I would NEVER play a game like Resident Evil or Silent Hill. The thing I don't like about the zombies is that they never die unless they're terminated with holy water or fire arrows. I never have enough to take on them all.
With the exception of the zombies I really like Thief. Therefore I want to know if there's a way to cheat so that the zombies won't rise again or even disappears before starting. Please help, or I'll never finish the game.
Edit: It's not that I can't sneak past them. It's just that I don't like to sneak around in a scary enviroment, and the grunting of the zombies is VERY scary. That doesn't mean I want to mute them, then I wouldn't know where they are.

If you don't like scary situations, then don't play Thief.
Problem solved.

You can also use flashbombs and mines to harm them.
Also the Hauntred Cathedral offers you the possibility to distract them
with Burrics, grab their attention and lead them to these dinos, they will start battling each other...
But the best way is to overcome your fear. Grab the attention of a lot of zombies, then find a ledge, stair or table and start observing them at safety for half an hour. You will see after long moments of zombie groaning that they are a bit goofy looking with their low poligon counts.
PS: If you found these zombies scary them there´s a certain mission at Thief 3 that I´m sure you will never like. It put´s Resident Evil and Silent Hill to shame. :ebil:

I don't bother wasting my holy water on the zombies as they tend to move slowly, I run round them. It's until you come across the Haunts (my Favourites) that I either try to outwit them or in more dangerous circumstances fire upon them with Holy Water or flash bombs.

Yes dear, put him back in the box now. You know Brother Mordred gets all excited when you take him out of the crypt......

His name is Brother Mortuis!
After seven years I thought you would remember:nono:

Why should I remember, he's YOUR friend!
(Why can't we have a dog like everyone else, why do we have to have the unquiet dead roaming the house? Groaning and hissing all night, dropping their fingers all over the place, honestly!)

Oh man I LOVE the undead. That they're a bit freaky and hard to kill is what makes them great, plus the excellent sounds they make - UNNNGGGGGHHHH UUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH!
After Thief 1 I started making zombie sounds quite a lot for a period. I've never stopped humming and whisteling like the guards after that game either, I actually do that if I'm walking around alone at night.

Basically they're just guards in a way so treating them like a guard who must not be alerted should do. When you're past this level, try to enjoy those guys.
