Well at least the Oblivion zombies don't resurrect, Dia. :P
Even tho I get quite scared if one of them surprise me from behind. :erm:
Yep; you've got a point. But they're a lot more realistic than the ones in the Thief games. Have to admit that gave me pause at the beginning, but the game is so damned good (and addictive) that I had to get over my fear/disgust of the undead if I wanted to get anywhere. Besides, I find the Daedric Lords a lot more scary since they can take some serious hits and still keep coming at you. I completed a smaller quest in Anvil where you had to retrieve the owner's crystal ball from a chest in the hold of her ship and let me tell you that the ghosts down there were pretty damned hair-raising! That was the first time I ever considered cutting and running (but I persevered). The graphics in Oblivion still take my breath away.
It would help (in Thief) if Garrett had more coordination at wielding his sword. His swordplay sucks, bigtime. Probably why the authors created flashbombs in the first place. ;)

Hmm... A lot of speaking of using flahbombs on zombies. I should try it. But since the game doesn't work properly, maybe someone can just tell me the effects of it.

Although the weapon burst is different, the effect is the same as using holy water arrows. The zombies recoil, groan, and steam comes off of them, if their hitpoints are low enough, they go rigid and explode, sending body parts all over, which can cause damage. Get a bunch of zombies clustered together and you might be able to save on how many weapons you go through to take 'em out. Or just avoid them and save more. You can pick up zombie parts, and throw them to create distractions, or other odd things.

In bonehoard, with all the dang zombies around it was impossible to sneak past them. So you either had to kill them or run. Then the feeling of being a thief was gone.
You missed the boat and are wrong. Not only is it possible, but you can ghost it. You do not have the patience required to play Thief the way it was originally conceived all those years ago, so you dismiss it. I want you to get Dark Project out and start over. Do it the right way. I'll see you at the cloister Taffer... :ebil:

I've never had a problem with scary things, but the immersiveness of Thief leaves me terrified of all the undead/haunts and what-not. I still play through them all of course (expert all the way), and I love that the games are so well-done that I am creeped out/sleep with the lights on, lol.
I always seem to get stuck on the scariest missions too...I couldn't locate an objective in the Cradle mission and so I had to painstakingly traverse its depths a thousand freakin times till I found it.
Oh and Silent Hill, Oblivion and Morrowind (great as they all are) held no scares like Thief. Maybe Silent hill...but just not quite as immersive for me at least.

With the ultimate difficulty mod the zombies are replaced by flesh-eating dragsters.

OH MY GOD!!!!
I wish I had one for my back yard!

I love undead. They're so unique and interesting. But I also hate them, because they force me into kill-mode and I have the need to slaughter all of them.
Brother Inquisitor on 7/5/2008 at 23:41
If for no other reason, I love the undead because you can get them to battle the human guards for you. I probably spent days watching the Zombies from that mine invading Cragscleft prison or watching two haunts slay the entire staff of the Mechanist church. It never gets old.

Gangwars are always fun to watch.
I just love the zombies, they are fucking delicious.
