Love Mark Duplass, but as an aside, can I just say I don't "get" Aubrey Plaza? I desperately need someone to explain this phenomenon to me, because whenever I see her, I feel like I'm watching Dante's girlfriend from Clerks - on sedatives. Sort of this vague bored bad non-acting.
I've listened to her WTF interview with Marc Maron, and nothing against her because she seems very sweet and genuine and unassuming, but I feel like everyone goes kinda loopy over her, and there's nothing really there.
I feel like she's less an actress and more of a prop. As a form of deadpan, she can be used to really good effect by a good director, but -- and maybe this is just because I haven't seen her in the right things, -- it's all very single note, isn't it?
