I just went out and bought Deus Ex, and I have one teensy little problem......
IT WON'T INSTALL!
There are no defects on the disc, and I've never had any problems like this before
I was wondering if this problem has occured with anyone else, and if they managed to fix it. I don't wanna have to return this thing.

And your system configuration - OS, HD space, DVD or CD-Rom etc.

Please give us more info, other than it won't install. This is not a common problem for this game, so it's probably something tied to your PC, or that specific disk.

Or it could simply be your CD drive can't handle the Deus Ex disc (a known problem). The two suggested solutions (from the Ion Storm FAQ): (1) Run setup directly from the CD rather than via the autoplay splash menu (this means you need to view rather than open the disk in Explorer). (2) Copy the contents of the CD to a directory on your hard drive and install from there.

The latter is most likely. This actually is a rather common problem (as far as problems being common). It has to do with the disc being overburned. It has 698 MB of space on one disc. Some CD drives (older ones mostly, although DVD drives have been known to act odd--I can't play any game by Blizzard on my Pioneer DVD) have problems running discs like that.
We really do need more info though. Does it install partially, then an error occurs? Does it not even start at all? Do you have DMA enabled? Etc?

Thanks everyone
I used wsthune's advice, and copied everything to my HD
Deus Ex is running fine now, and I couldn't be happier with the game
Thanks for the help!
