I love a good storm. - by SubJeff

Well tales of the Frankenstorm are just in time for the real Haloween (not this weekend's parties, the real day).
Look like it's going to be epic. New York closed? Man, I wish I could be there. I love a good storm, lashing it all up, all the noise and drama and fury. In the UK the storms are damp squibs. In Africa we used to get some crazy rain, mudslides, roads turning into rivers, the whole shebang. There is nothing quite like being in the warm when the world is being blasted by the weather all around you.
Of course there is a limit to the coolness of it. A storm needs to be epic enough to be dramatic and remind us how helpless we are, but not epic enough to mess people's lives up.
So good luck to all the USAers who will be braving this. Stay safe and I hope it's just the right size to be fun.

Well, my dipshit little town in PA is directly in the path of this thing. Shit closing down everywhere. Schools called off today and tomorrow this morning.
Poor bastards in NJ are already getting whacked, and it's not even really here yet. Portions of the Altlantic City boardwalk have floated off into sea.

Your disaster will be televised.
Apparently not. All the cameras are down. Either they're swamped from too many people watching it, or they've been...frankenstormed. O_o
I like a good storm too, though all we're getting in my neck of the woods is a cold backlash and a little wind from it. I look outside, and the sun is shining, the clouds are nice and fluffy, and it's
freezing. Woohoo.

I lived in NJ for a couple of years when I was a kid. Weird to think of it getting Hurricaned.

Hmmm.
Its looking worse than imagined. This could be pretty bad. I hope the precautions are enough.

For all the times I heard "this is the worst case scenario" being hammered while watching the news this morning, I certainly hope everyone has. It's already forecasted to be considerably worse than the 1991 Perfect Storm.
...and that's scary.

Meanwhile with hurricane Sandy.
Man, if someone had the balls and balance to dance out in the hurricane, they'd be an internet celebrity for a whole week!
