I have no problem if real life got in the way, that happens, it happened to me in December of 06 when my Dad passed away. My issue is that the guy/gal is still posting around the net...yet ignoring his promise to upload the rest of the journal. :( If life is still that bad for them after nearly 4 years...well, I can only hope that it improves.
All I'm saying, is that they don't appear to be having trouble posting on other forums, or continuing to play games for that matter. One persons definition of 'the worst thing that could have ever happened' can be pretty inconsequential in comparison to another. Maybe he stubbed his toe, maybe he was in a car crash, maybe his house burned, a family member died, unemployed, who knows? It could have been major, it could have been nothing. All I know is that nearly 4 years is a little bit much!

I sent out a few, no response yet. Others he just logged on as a guest. Although he has posted "recently," what I mean by that is within the past year. Haven't seen much activity since February 2008 or so, though.
Bottom line: If he doesn't have the balls to login here, then he most likely won't respond to any PMs or emails.

Well if you're all going to act hostile and pissy towards him you aren't exactly doing your slim chances any favours anyway.
Mind you the rest of it probably makes little difference in the overall big picture anyway now - unfortunately I can't see anyone flocking to make thief 2 gold, and already there was quite a bit of info available on that from the first part.
I mean if you want to encourage someone to do something complaining about their inaction and calling them a liar when you know fuck all about what has happened is laughable.
