Heart-warming reunion, isn't it.
Be sure to watch next season, when brethren wins an original concept art of Garrett's left little toe - and on the spot gets lost after a horrid plane crash over the atlantic ocean, is accidentally saved by ghost-pirates - only to be enslaved and sold to a strange tribe of apemen on a vulcanic island yet undiscovered by civilisation and populated by giant mosquitos. See him hide his treasure from detection, watch his adventurous escape on a self-built cooking pot and experience Goldmoon Dawn's altruistic endeavors to at least get the
pic back to safety...
Coming soon.
ttlg.com.
Now that I'd pay to see. Thanks, xxcoy! I needed a good chuckle.
Qckbeam, there are many of us who'd love to see the whole journal, but it is yours to with as you will. After this arse biscuit fest, I would totally understand you disappearing back into the mist. However, please consider working with those of us who are reasonable or at least not personally insulting.
Now, 'scuse me while I go have another scotch.

Sorry Qckbeam, I didn't mean to be so harsh. Do try to understand, through your own admission...we've been waiting for 4 years. That's a long time. The Journal was something everyone in the community truly wanted to have a part in. We wanted to read a part of Thief history. You gave us hope that you would upload the full journal, and then disappeared. As you said earlier, you forgot all about this...but for those of us who stuck around keeping the community alive over the last 4 years, that's 4 years we've had to sit here growing increasingly bitter. lol
You forgot because you weren't involved with the community, but for those of us left behind...it was a bit of a sore spot. The desire and hope of seeing this small piece of Thief history was and is still fresh in our minds. I think people are equally annoyed with Emil for throwing caution to the wind as he did, especially with something everyone would obviously want to see.
Nobody is mad that you didn't mail it to some stranger, that was only a rabid suggestion out of desperation, but some are mad that the last fifty pages weren't uploaded as promised and that's all it really boils down to. All anyone truly wants to ensure, is that a digital copy of the entire journal exists so that it doesn't disappear forever.
Please do try to put the shoe on the other foot. Anyway, I am sorry if I upset you.

There is a slight selfishness coming through in most posts here.
I'm not troubled about it at all.
;)
Selfish to ask someone to share what they have with everyone else? Not even the real thing, just a digital copy? That hardly benefits me alone. Did we watch the same Sesame Street growing up? :)

This bickering is really un-TTLG-like, so everyone needs to just chill out. Qckbeam agreed to share the journal if we took his info down, which has been done. I apologized for posting his info in the first place. He's given the community an explanation of what happened - I can accept that, surely everyone else can too.
@Qckbeam - since you've been away from TTLG for a while, you probably don't know about the incomplete Thief2 Gold levels that were released (anonymously) by an ex-LGS staffer a few years ago. Some of the info in the journal matches with what was in these levels, making the journal that much more interesting. Check out the thread (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108070) here. This may go a little further in explaining some of the animosity going around. Between these levels and the journal, we can get a decent picture of what Thief2 Gold might have been.
And Digi, please don't lock the thread, as this is the most logical place where we can get updates on the scans hopefully being released.

Good call people, I feel the love!
Qckbeam, have you heard about Thief2X: Shadows of the Metal Age?
It's an unofficial but very cool expansion pack for Thief 2: The Metal Age.
If you're interested you can download it here:

A big thanks to all the Taffers' who made it!
Enjoy and please come back to us.
Those who continue to insult you will be locked in Cragscleft Prison for the remainder of their natural life.:joke:

Could we please finally end this ridiculous witch-hunt and just leave it at that now?
Eeh, I know when I've done my share. I just like everyone to know what side I'm on and how I feel, I seem to be very peculiar like that.
Still tho, qck, you got crap to do? I, for one, understand; its not anyone's place to judge you or anything like that.
Btw, the eBay thing was quite good for a quick laugh. :thumb:

Was that travelling gnome idea inspired by the French movie 'Amelie'?
snowcap21 on 4/5/2008 at 11:52
Back to the beginning: It'll be nice, if you scan and post the missing part of the journal, qckbeam (without the personal information of course). It was very interesting to dig through the parts, you already gave us. Thanks again for that.

That's true, if the journal had a clearer picture of what the Thief 2 Gold levels might have been like, it could very well help inspire the community to really finish those levels.
Once again Qkbeam, I'm very sorry for being such a turd. We're all just extremely passionate about the journal.
