Thanks for the mirrors to those that provided them.

I know this thread is very old but I was wondering if anyone had heard of anything further from qckbeam and Emil's Journal entries?
Thanks

Nope.:erg:
Qckbeam last posted above (he's on other fora around the 'net), but last logged in 22nd Dec 2005. Too ashamed to say what happened, and not mailing the journal to anyone else. Some believe it was a forgery, but Emil has not confirmed or denied it, and too much effort and inside knowledge (or incredibly lucky guesses) would've been necessary for qkbeam to fake it.

It definitely genuine. Many things mentioned in the journal match up perfectly with the raw Thief2 Gold missions that Digi released from MysteryDev less than two years ago.
I too would kill for the rest of the journal. Qckbeam's info here is dead, but after jtr mentioned he was involved in other forums, I did a few searches and sent out a few inquiring emails, just waiting for a response now.

During your collecting work, jtr7, I hope you already have typewritten this document? :p
jtr7 on 20/4/2008 at 19:14
I have the *.pdf and the transcription thread saved in the same folder with the Thief 2 Gold files. I'm trying to collect all the historical footnotes together when I'm not working on OM floor plans.

Good luck, Brethren. It's really a shame he never posted the rest of such an historic document. I never knew about this whole thing, as I didn't frequent this forum back in the day, so I read through Emil's original thread earlier today. I was shocked at first that he wouldn't just give such a journal to The Circle, but I realized he must not have realized how historically significant we would all consider it here. I think that's evident in his responses to all the interest shown initially (either that or it was simple modesty).

Is there a way to search ebay's past auctions for items that may have been put up for bid? :o
Renault on 21/4/2008 at 02:52
Interesting... It doesn't appear that Ebay keeps auction data that far back, but I noticed a user named "Qckbeam" started an account about a month after our Qckbeam's last post here. :weird: If you think about it, that's a pretty big cooincidence.
Still, if he auctioned the thing, you'd think he'd make that public knowledge here. Seems likely he'd get the best price from a TTLG user over any of the masses the peruse Ebay.

To the contrary, he might have been too ashamed to admit here that he decided to sell it. I find the username thing a huge coincidence too - I fear the worst is the most likely scenario here, unfortunately. What a shame...
The only thing I can think of now is a massive email campaign by us to him. Assuming we have a current email address, he'd be sure to notice and might at least come forward here and tell us the truth, even if it's bad news.
