Please, I really like you guys, but grow up just a little bit.
If I was him I wouldn't return at all after reading this thread about "guilt" and "confessions". Who do we all think we are, judging someone we don't even know about something we don't know either?

So, how many people could possibly come to the idea of writing it as "Qckbeam"?

If that's how you feel, fine, but he won the contest and it was his responsibility to get a PDF into the hands of the community. There are consequences to action and inaction...if he comes back, he'll have to suck it up. If he didn't have time to scan the journal, he should have donated the journal back to the mods of TTLG. It takes no time to pop it into an envelope and ship it to someone in the mail. I don't think there is anything childish in noticing that someone is active on other boards, but staying away from this one. Sorry man, but when a piece of LGS history gets lost like this...it's pretty infuriating.

I think the point is, he agreed to share the journal. Then he reneged. That's an integrity issue.
If he said from the start, "Sorry guys, this is a valuable item, I'm selling it on Ebay," I wouldn't have been happy about it, but I would have accepted it because he won the contest and journal was his. Hell, in that case, I would have been more pissed at Emil for not giving it to someone more core to the community.
As it stands, plain and simple, Qckbeam is a liar. It doesn't mean he's going to hell or anything like that, it just means that he's a dishonest person. Not the biggest deal in the world, there's lots of people out there like that. :p

Since blanket-statements are being made, and hyperbole, I shall now state that I'm merely suspicious, and have good reason to be. HOWEVER...any comments of mine about his intentions ARE purely speculative and by no means indicative of my beliefs. It's a wistful expression of disappointment. There is also humor, but that's not always easy to see.
He had/has options, and I'll be quick to forgive him if he can get us the rest of the journal, or has the nads to tell us why he suddenly stopped posting, never sent another *.pdf, etc. If he lost the journal, then that would be big suckage, and I would be embarrassed, too. But with the safety of the anonymous internet, I could tell the sad tale, and exile myself.

Lord, never let me get my hands on anything like that journal and then let RL happen to be in the way brazenly. :p
jtr7 on 21/4/2008 at 18:02
Yes, please Lord.
If he could log in, months after his last post, he could've said something to somebody, in private even.;)
