i figured it out for thief 2 but not sure how it will go for thief gold but i will wait till the next thief gold missions comes out to worry about it

As I remember it's exactly the same for both, as long as T1 has had TFix run on it
I think the file you need to edit is cam_mod.ini
Uncomment the line to use the fm selector, it's near the start of the file
You should get fmsel running whenever you start T1

thank you will try i got the fmsel to appear in new comp now, just have to test it soon
