henke I love how you are a connoisseur of mediocre video games—you play them and make interesting writeups and videos so the rest of us don't have to!:D

that was a compliment, by the way, I wasn't trying to kill the thread

There's nothing to be upset about, the topic has just run dry. Only so much can be said about a forgettable and utterly generic, mediocre shooter.

Haha oh yes, it was taken as a compliment. :) Don't worry about the thread, it has served it's purpose.

Well, I found the game for $3 and bought it for a laugh. I wasn't even expecting it to run, as my video card is ancient (it was top of the line 5-6 years ago) and overheats. It won't play all of the games it used to. Well, I was able to pump it to my desktop resolution (CRT @ 1280x960), and completely max the video settings while still getting 30 fps.
I hate it, I really tried to get into it, as the environments as interesting enough to explore, but the combat and controls are just clunky as hell. First off, you have to aim quite a bit lower than you'd expect, due to the odd placement of the reticle. I don't think I can ever get accustomed to it. I'd have to erase 15 years of muscle memory. It is near impossible to move and shoot accurately.
The voice acting is atrocious. It isn't even comically bad like Gothic 1-2. It is just annoyingly bad. The enemies look ridiculous. Those glowing blue parts of their costume are laughable. The story is just stupid. Think if the story from Painkiller was backwards and written by a bored 6th grader. I might give it one more shot, but man, after that I give up.
