yeah, that shortcut was planned to be included five versions ago, but I always forget in the end.
FMsel supports SS2 of course.

Yeah, just to make it clear, I meant to say that for a majority of FMs, aside from ones that include an fm.ini, it doesn't recognize the old standard of FM name loading and just uses the zip file name. I have brought this up before, though it didn't go anywhere and I've just gotten used to it. I still wish FMSel were capable of loading the FM names from the older format FM archives, and I'm still not entirely sure why that wasn't implemented in FMSel to begin with.
Right - I'd forgotten about that. (The T3 version will extract the title, but only if the FM has a .glml readme file, which most T3 FMs have.) It's definitely a valid point. Maybe it would be worth it taking a look at how Darkloader extracts the title, and if that code can be grafted on to FMSel?

You don't have to put up with that; you can set your preferred application for file types in wine the same way you can in Windows. If you don't want to use their poor notepad clone just install a better document app and use that.

only downside i see to using fmselect is that when you are in a mission and say the mission is more then 1 mission but say on a earlyer mission there is say a key that dont work ,you will NOT be able to skip mission the ctrl/shift/alt/end does not work and yes i got all patches
and that is running fmselect without darkloader at all

I couldn't understand 3/4 what you were trying to say, but anyways. Why would you want to skip a mission?

if a mission is broken and not passable and there are more missions after it,is why you skip
without having to go into files and change things to start on a later mission

Why would that be the case? If the campaign is packaged as a campaign that should work just fine in FMSelect.
Edit: Just tested this in The Black Frog, and it worked perfectly fine. Using FMSelect, of course.

There is no reason why skipping a mission wouldn't work with either FMSel or Darkloader. The mission skip command (Control/Alt/Shift/End) has nothing to do with either of those programs, or New Dark for that matter. It's something built into basic Thief. And it works just fine on my version, and I use FMSel.

That doesn't even make sense. You either load a mission with FMSel or with Darkloader. You can't use both at the same time.
(are we being trolled here? Seriously).

brethren sometime when i put a fan mission into my fan mission folder and run with darkloader, fmsel will then automaticly pop up and force me to use it,not all missions but some, not sure why,i figure its my set up
