I think they should've waited.... - by Skraeling

Now I know we are all dying to get our hands on some DX2 goodness, but wouldn't it be better to wait a bit? If ISA waited around a little bit more, than they could get more user feedback , more understanding of how multiplayer works out, and the like. There is always a second generation of fans that wait to get the game for a few years. Maybe because of the price drop, or resistant parents, either way there are always a few that buy into the coolness factor of the game. Their thoughts on the game are just as valuable, seeing as that gives ISA some insight into how well the game stands against the test of time. Also, if they waited before jumping to production, then they might be able to see how the Geo-mod engine goes with the public, seeing as a destructable environment is a mite bit cooler than the slickness of the Unreal Warfare engine.

I myself have played the Red Faction SP demo and MP demo and I must say it kicks a lot of ass. However it's ment for a more action/adventure theme as apposed to the strategy/adventure theme of deus ex. And blowing things up seemed to go along great with the whole mining idea of Red faction. I'm sure it would at least a bit of the game if you could just blow up the wall around a door instead of chosing whether or not to use those o-so-precious lookpicks.

i don't know about you, but i don't wanna wait any longer for DX2 than i already have to. if they wanna do what you said, skrae (which isn't necessarily a bad idea), at least let them release an expansion pack of some sort or something like that so i don't have to play just dx for another 5 years. it got replayability, but not THAT much.

Firstly, it is optimistic to believe that the release date will be met, and I have all faith in ISA. Secondly, I believe that regardless of the proximity of release date, Deus Ex II will improve on the supposedly weaker aspects of the original. And, I also, want this game as quickly as possible.

First off, the Red Faction Geo Mod technology isn't that great. I too played the SP demo, and if you've noticed like I did, you can only burrow so far before it cuts you off. Any game can do this right now with some simple coding. All they did was set parameters of what could be destroyed around a certain area. I thought they were going to let you build your own tunnels if you wanted to. Anyhow, it just goes to show that hype is nothing if it's not backed properly.
Secondly, Deus Ex has been out well over a year now, and DX 2 won't be out for at least another year, so by the time DX 2 comes out, DX 1 would have been out for over 2 years. Seeing as how DX 1 won so many awards, I think that was enough user feedback. As far as your MP thing, DX 2 most likely won't have MP, and most likely Harvey and Crew won't implement it. Read the latest articles coming out of ISA and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm sorry to say BDB but the reason its cuting you off is because you're running out of ram space. If you go into the extra level you will notice that all of the walls, floor and celeing can be destroyed. I my self have shoten two tunnels into the walls and connected them, go try it.

No....I'm sorry for you....you're much wrong here. You're talking about the extra level...I'm talking about the actual GAME demo. I am not running out of RAM space with 256MB. Go into the regular GAME demo, not the extra level, and post a screen shot of you burrowing a deep tunnel, I want to see this.

Personally, I sometimes wish they hadn't said DX2 was being worked on until the day before its release. I like the screenshots they put up, but I'm goin' "nuckin' futz" waiting for more... The agony is unbearable.
