I am sorry but I don't like this new blackjack.
It is a side swipe and a quick one at that.
My old blackjack when I would hold the button down Garrett would say Uunh.
And when you released the button the mighty blackjack would come crashing down on top of said victims head. :thumb:
I miss my blackjack. :(
On another note is there a bug in the game or do the A.I. respawn??
I have been trying to clear the guards in this one hallway.
I knock em out grab one take him around the corner to my bodypile. tm
When I come back around the corner there are two more guards.
AAAAh!!
I try this 10 20 30 times all with the same results.
I am done whining and now I am going to bed.

They respawn in the city. Take my advice - sneak by them. Otherwise it's like Doom on Nightmare difficulty.

I like the new blackjack and the dagger, they are easier to hit small targets with. I also like the way the new blackjack doesn't look like some kind of mushroom.
And the blackjack still comes crashing down on opponents if your doing it right and sneaking up from behind.

Do they respawn all the time? I was never able to tell if it was just when you move between areas - all I can tell for sure is that they respawn between missions.

I think the saddest thing about the new blackjack is that you can't knock out unarmed opponents once they're alerted. Gone are the days of:
"help help! There's a guy over here! He's ... *THWACK* .. uuuuuhhhh!"

They respawn all the time. Some City sections, the guards respawn less frequently, but if you wait a while, they'll be back.
Other areas, like Stonemarket, the guards spawn so damn fast that I ended up with almost 100 KOs for Stonemarket Proper in just one day. I found a nice spot to ambush them and then kept knocking them out as they walked past.

Yeah, Stonemarket sucked. You would take out a guard, and practically instantaneously there would be a replacement. Much better to sneak by in Stonemarket particularly.

You mean, the new spiked baseball bat is better than the old
actual (if very rigid) blackjack? :confused:
On my next play through, I'm going to be the Nice thief. I'm not going to steal from the poor, I'm not going to hurt the poor rust mites, but I am going to backstab everyone I would've blackjacked. I think it's better that they die than be a burden to their family with the permanent brain damage that my spiked club would've given them.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think the blackjack in the previous games is spikey as well. However it seemed to have fewer spikes and they were also "softer" barely seen actually, whereas in DS they're a lot more accentuated. I guess they wanted to make it look "cool" :nono:
