Right, how the fuck do you wet shave the back of your own head with cutting yourself to shit?
The advancement of razors has helped tremendously. I only use 3 or 4 blade disposable now. I can use a good 4 blade now at least 4 times. I used to throw way a 2 blade after every use.

Cherry-picking.
Confirmation bias.
False syllogisms (some FG fans were rabid on Twitter, therefore FG fans are rabid)
You seriously don't think anyone could do the same with South Park & The Simpsons? This is not how you analyse information - you look at the whole thing and you use the dominant trends to characterise it, not take every instance of something you didn't like and make like that is the whole picture.
Seriously, how did you just let yourself use this as an argument? You realise as well that you put yourself into a falsification disadvantage by saying that FG isn't subtle, because all anyone has to do to falsify that is to produce an example. But no number of links you post about why it
isn't subtle will be enough until you cover most of the entire show. This is pretty basic logic.
No, again, you're throwing out a red herring. Had I said that family guy is NEVER subtle, you would have a point but I didn't. I said the show as a whole is not soubtle.
Again, same deal. I picked out a few random clips obtained by doing a search on youtube for "family guy [insert random controversial topic]".. ie, "family guy rape".
Fact of the matter is that the clips I've pointed out are fairly typical for when McFarlane tries to address any emotionally or ideologically weighted topic. He was able to do so a bit more successfully early in the show (I liked the season 1 episode where they make Peter do sensitivity training), but by the third, fourth season the show had become incapable of addressing any serious issue without resorting to blatant, in your face, un-humorous preaching.
Case in point, watch that wal-mart episode again. It relies on a very black and white "mega marts are bad and to blame for everything!" message, delivered by things like the store sucking up all the town's electricity (too dumb to be humorous) and Commentary from Brian (aformentioned blatant preaching).

No dude, you don't get how things work. You can't just pick a few examples and go "Explain this then!".
You are quite correct though; FG isn't ALL subtle, and no one said it was. There are very few comedies that are ALL subtle. My point was; where there IS subtlety people like you and dethtoll sometimes miss it and take it on face value. The bull raping Peter for example - on the surface it just looks like "ha ha, he got bummed" but there is a lot of deeper (no pun intended!) meaning to that joke.

^ that.
I'm done explaining why I find something funny. I'm pretty sure I am intelligent, have a decent enough sense of humour and am free of prejudice against others enough to just rate it and be happy with it. I don't care that others don't like Family Guy - fuck, I only do it in small doses and have gone off it in favour of American Dad, but I'm not taking one fucking iota of this ridiculous "here's a wall chart showing 4 examples of why Family Guy is bad and therefore your taste is wrong", by someone whose only qualification is "I don't like Family Guy".

The thing I don't get about Family Guy, is why it's a cartoon. No, really, there's pretty much no reason at all for it to be animated. I realize "hey let's make a sitcom, but with cartoon characters who look like badly drawn people!" is a thing, but jesus christ, make it stop already.
faetal on 12/9/2013 at 12:27
The fact that a pool of about 10 people do all of the voices probably factors into that.

Certainly, don't forget the halloumi.
... or else you're a gay Cracker racist Negro who hates cartoons and Islamic Jews and Tom and Jerry, and wants to burn the dictionary to protect the world from words,
and hates cheese.
Just want to make sure that everybody saw that, so they can be suitably offended.
Mods, please note.

You can do stuff in cartoons with much more ease than real life.
Imagine this live action: (

Or, just about all of it. How much easier is it to do as an animation?

Well, it might be easier to do with animation when your animation is as shitty as Family Guy's, on the other hand I can't imagine it takes less time/money to do an FG episode than it would to just set up some cameras and film people making bad internet jokes and referencing old pop culture memes. Part of the reason Scrubs (for the first several seasons, anyway) was so funny is that they were doing surreal slapstick comedy with real actors and camera work.
