Use of Weapons is hands down my favourite of his SF stuff. For the non-SF output, I'd probably go with Complicity.

Reading The Hydrogen Sonata at the moment. Rereads of Use of Weapons, Consider Phlebas, The Algebraist, Inversions, Feersum Endjinn, The Wasp Factory and The Bridge on the horizon. All great, great books.

He's pretty much my favourite Si-Fi author right now, this sucks.

The Algebraist was fantastic and I've got through the first 4 Culture novels. Excession seemed a little weak, hopefully not an indication for the rest of the series.

Even if they weren't as good I still enjoy the characters and worlds he created. This really really sucks :(

Finished reading Hydrogen Sonata the day he died. Was on holiday and out of news/internet for a week. Realised he was one of my favourite human beings and that time was short, so started writing a letter to him. Got back and found out. Shitfuck.
