Jordan, I think Iceblade was being sarcastic with that statement, at least I hope so! I haven't won a contest in a long time, and that's just fine with me. There are plenty of talented authors around here.

I have a very old mission in stock that could well fit this contest, but I could be disqualified if I participate :(

You all have nothing to fear. YandrosPenetetrator says that he's the worst empty box maker of all. His church towers are like gelato.
Hahaha! Yes I remember that guy, another fake account from our old fellow! xD It was on RPG Codex, isn't it?

don't worry FireMage....I love you
(and you did win the last contest with the truly brilliant mission
The Curse of the Skull Goblet, so i suspect Yandros has everything to worry about)
Thank you Fortuni! :)
Of course! But we were not numerous! ^^' It was like throwing dices to win such contest...
(BTW: I still waiting for the missions of these people who tell me they will release their contest missions after the contest )

Yes, you are probably right Yandros. I don't know if it was sarcastic or not but now you're saying it, it's maybe true...
But I'm not only speaking about me. I mean, just avoid saying such things because some mappers who are not popular yet will never at least try such contest which IMHO a contest that you should not miss if you know how to build a FM!
Iceblade on 8/12/2015 at 18:30
I was not serious, its why I put the tongue-out smilie. Obviously there are a lot of factors that affect which fan missions will get more votes - especially personal preferences - especially with Yandros missions. He never seems to create the same mission twice, each one seems to be quite unique from the rest of his dromography.
Also, since when have FM contests been about winning.

I protest, I am the one who makes ice cream church towers!
Yandros on 8/12/2015 at 19:50
Indeed, I have never ever made an ice cream cone cathedral! That was skacky!

To be fair, the Trickster is in the Hammerite pantheon. He's frequently mentioned in their prayers.
"Hammer, anvil, forge and fire, chase away The Hoofed Liar. Roof and doorway, block and beam, chase The Trickster from our dreams"
"And when the Trickster came, the man who hadst built his house of straw didst see it fall. And the man who hadst built his house of twigs didst see it fall. But the man who hadst taken care and built his house of stone didst laugh at the Trickster and was rendered immune to his beguilings..."
The Trickster is a God to the Hammers, he's just the anthesis of the Master Builder. The anti-Builder if you will. He represents the old order which the Hammers sought to destroy.:cheeky:
FireMage on 8/12/2015 at 20:54
As the Builder may exist in the Pagan pantheon! :)
But it sounds the Builder was just the first hammerite because in Thief Gold Trickster cutscene Viktoria call the hamerites "The ones who call themself the Builders"
Then the Builder is to pagans not a God but a mere mortal who has decided to destroy the forest with some fellows and fight against the Trickster.

My impression is that the transition from old to new gods in Thief mirrors the shift from polytheism to monotheism IRL, following the example of the abrahamic religions (but that's just my own personal take on the subject).
The trickster may indeed very well be the only other "god" explicitly referred to both in Hammerite prayers and throughout the Thef games in general. However the Trickster is clearly differentiated from the Builder as belonging to the "older" variety (hence one may deduce that the Builder be a "new god" or "actual god"). And one can clearly assume other such "older gods" existed because of the plural marking of the word GOD in the quote in epigraph of this topic.
My questions are: other than the Trickster, who might these so called "old gods" be? What did they represent? What powers did they have? And perhaps, what happened to them? (FireMage's and Purgator's last posts are two good attempts to answer this question, and represent is just two possibility among countless others) Also, was the Trickster the most important old god, or just one among others? What other cosmogonic planes, such as the Maw of Chaos, could one imagine? Finally, is there a difference to be made between these "old gods", and those possibly worshipped by the precursors?
All of these questions shouldn't necessarily be answered throughout this contest, but are only there to define the topic.

Sperry, Have you thought about size or judging criteria?
I haven't, and I'd rather give this possibility to someone with more experience in mission contest creation. Any takers?

I'm not too certain, but N'lahotep seems to be a deity to the Precursor civilization.
