I think the plot should the three different possible endings that Deus Ex presented. I haven't thought about what it would mean yet, but all the endings were interesting in their way.
On the engine side, I disliked the original Unreal engine. I think LithEngine (NOLF version) handles large spaces better and even looks better. Even SS2 engine would be better.

The decision to use the Unreal Warfare engine was made long ago, there's no turning back. And IMO it's the best choice they could have made, it's a very modern engine, that I believe makes the dark engine and Lithtech look like crap, even if it weren't heavily modified by IonStorm (or TriOptimum or whatever they are called)
I expect both Thief 3 and Deus Ex 2 to look stunning, keep your eyes open when E3 is going on (May) :wot: :thumb:

Yah, I'm all for them continuing with the Unreal engine. You have to keep in mind that Ion Storm has addressed all the issues with DX1 and dealt with them for DX2, so expect vast improvements in the areas of graphics, A.I., motion capture, and others. Also, the Unreal engine supports branching dialogue and RPG type interface (heavily modified by Ion Storm, natch), pivotal aspects of the Deus Ex game.
As for Thief III, I'm truly excited about how the Unreal engine will render the gameworld. I can't picture any other engine that could do it justice, although Quake III could come close.

The problem with the original Deus Ex engine(Unreal right) is that it couldn't handle too much stuff. You could not ad a bunch of crap and make one huge level eithout using high system requirements.

That is true, but also the fact that the programming in DX1 was poor. They refined the code for DX1/PS2, with loading times which are 1/3 of what it is now. Also FPS has gone up to 80fps for decent systems. It is a pity they don't re-release DX1 again with the improved C++ codes.
I personally like the Unreal Engine because you can interface with the engine and change a huge number of aspects of the game. The fact that DX is immersive means that the interface capability is really amazing.

If only they didn't do such a half-ass job programming the system requirements might of only been half as much. Maybe:thumb: yeah probably.

Ultimately I have no real complaints with the engine, considering the HUGE amount of stuff they put in. We're talking not only about all the RPG elements, but also the branching dialogue, the differing results of your actions and decisions, the vast gameworld, the objects and optional interactivity you can do, and the insane amount of books, newspaper articles, classified information, and everything else you can read if you so choose. All that and more on top of a FPS style game. Nope, I have no real complaints.

well i fear the engine can't be changed anymore. furthermore, he unreal 2 engine is the best you can get anyway.
