Godfather 2 DLC for the console versions
The local EB Games clerk whom I'm friendly with told me about this news today, it's quite funny. They're literally selling the best guns that you acquire later into the game. So essentially you're being charged for a spawn weapons cheat code.
I recall that the Dead Space DLC was like this too, i.e. the option of buying a Level 5 rig upgrade.

IIRC, they did the same thing for Godfather 1. I've also read a Godfather 2 review and it sounds a bit poor...

How do you put up with New Zealand bullshit?

We are forced to put with it because early idiotic gamers made it into a money wheel. People buy the DLC's, so the companies really have no reason to not make the DLC's since the produce a large amount of revenue for the amount of work involved. The rest of us then have a choice, we either boycott and do without (which kinda sucks if there's a single feature in the DLC you really really want), buy the DLC (and thus continue to perpetuate the cycle), or pirate the item and risk other reprocussions (such as potentially giving up online play if a cd-key comes with the DLC).
Edit: o wait, "console gamers"....meh, I stand with my statement.

I'm sure that everyone already saw (
http://ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125883) this thread -A premium map pack for Far Cry 2 PC was released about a couple weeks back.
What I'm afraid of is stupid buying people, even though PC audiences should know better.
It is on Steam and let's be honest there's loads of mouth-breathing idiot fanboys that play certain Valve-made multiplayer games and/or think that the company can do no wrong. I bet that there's some that even think that everything sold on Steam is made by Valve.
I'm sure that the likes of Dethtoll can tell you that the Steam forums can be a circus of idiots at times.
I posted this argument on the Steam board.
Quote:
1.
But it's just $5, a cost of a few beers or a fast food value meal. By supporting this you'll only be hurting the PC games market in the long term. Selling bulk stuff at bargain prices can do very well, if Steam Weekend deals are any indication. Popular vendors selling software at such a loss and advertising it well usually pays off with the sheer volume of sales.
2. I'd buy it only for the Single Player content. No one plays FC2 Multiplayer online anyway. There are perfectly fine alternatives already in the retail game. See answer #1. Selling bulk stuff at bargain prices can accumulate, as I already said.
3. I only play Valve MP games and they'll keep releasing free additional content. I don't care about other publishers' games. Please stop being selfish, think of the greater good of the PC market.
The days of developer supported modding are also looking bleaker by the day. I mentioned in the above linked thread that the likes GfW Live doesn't support MP mods. I'd really hate to see the creativity outlets on PC to be reduced to experimental indie games and really low tech open source stuff.

I think the funny part about DLC is that the company who made its dubious value famous (see: Horse Armour) is the only one I can think of offhand who releases DLC that's clearly been developed after the release of the game, as opposed to being purely withheld content/pay-for-cheats shit.
Stuff like this still pisses me off a lot less than collector's editions having exclusive, game-altering content (see: Empire Total War).

You guys think this is bad? Have you seen Jericho's DLC?

Look, you're a consumer. You have a basic choice, buy available products or don't buy available products. Believing or demanding that products that you don't want shouldn't be available to anyone based on your value system makes you the moral equivalent of Jack Thompson.

Wow.
