I don't mean to get anyone to excited. I found several articles and some forum speaking of Thief 4 but they seem old. Also I am quite disturbed that they mention doing away with the medieval setting ...well, below is a small part of one of the articles..While they are at it why dont they just make a Star Wars game with cavemen.

I know this is a FM forum but I think a possible Thief 4 is relevant because we all hold the game in such high regards.


Does anyone know anymore about this ???? If I want a modern Thief like game I would play Splinter Cell which is similar but all 3rd person. These articals are from shortly after the release of Thief 3.

NEVER touch the Thiefstory!!!

It is OK as it is! Don't make a Deus EX or whatever mission out of it!
There're a lot of alternatives to play, but NEVER EVER change the Thief storyline!:nono:

Thank god...what? Would Garrett hop in a time machine and get mugged by the crypts(large street gang in NYC) ! Maybe get a cell phone and some EMP arrows ? No thanks.

I wouldn't mind it if it were made as an ALTERNATIVE thief game - like THIEF 2000 or something like that. Or how about the world of thief as it advanced under Hammer and Keeper influence? That might actually be interesting. I don't think it should be rejected out of hand just for eschewing the Mediaval theme - but I also don't think they should make it an official Theif 4 game, but like an alternative game based on Thief. Make sense?
