If Thi4f has a LARGE City Map... - by Jilly The Taffer

As much as possible, of course.
I wouldn't mind some minor loading sequences between the various city quarters and outdoor locations, but the devs should try to make the loading dynamic. You would walk with Garrett through the local gate or underpass, and while you're moving, the map of the next location loads. Of course, if the engine can handle a gigantic City and it's surroundings without any problems, no loading zones or times are needed...

This time it could be a new city, kind of celtic, german, French, italien, spansih medieval cities...may be a French City in a mountain...I love France, its the most beautifull country i ever visited:thumb:
I love sci-fi games, but let´s hope they won´t include anything of the future in theif 4, Medieval and spaceships don´t mix well, regardless on what i´ve done in some of my t2 missions...Anyway I never enjoyed those mechanists areas of the Karras order, those art-deco and metal textures are crapy...tought somethig like quake 1 ghotic places would fit well in thief 4.

No one wants to run around Garrett's old place?

ahhh...fidlle sticks to what i´ve said, sometimes i am a closed mind, i think at least one mission of sci-fi (spacestation, spaceship etc.) would be really interesting for thief 4, i might wanna do sci-fi missions for thief 4, and you´ll never know when you might need stuff for it:cheeky:

Garrett has already re-visited some places like the haunted cathedral and the lost city. Hopefully eidos montreal will give the city a new look in the fourth installment. It's fun to explore new places than going round and round in a few places all the time.
I find it much more fun to visit memorable places rather then new areas.

then what´s the point of playing thief 4, if i want to visit again baddford´s mansion or the haunted cathedral i replay Thief 1 again, not to mention other versions of those mission that are able on thief fan missions...dahhh, evolution and new ideas please.
And what makes you think that thief 4 won´t bring good or better new places or outstand the previous thiefs in all features?

I have put a vote in for forests and mountains etc. Imagine something like the T2 OM 'Trail of Blood' but with the graphics ramped up to awesome.
Agreed. At least a few missions out of city would be plain awesomeness, like the bonehoard, random mountains + probable pagan involvement (unless ion storm f**ked up thief franchise so far, that they even destroyed the pagans... sorry, haven't played Thief3 all-the-way), a mission at sea etc.

City, forest, mansions, new places, familiar places, strange and weird places.... more of everything!
And I add my voice to the cry for NO STUIPD BLUE FOG LOADING ZONES!

I'm in the "everywhere" camp myself, though I maintain some scepticism regarding revisiting familiar places from past games, as far as access goes. Meaning, walking past Lord Bafford's manor is fine, but allowing the slightest access would certainly fall short in comparison to the actual level from TDP.
Other than that I care less about the places visited and more about the how. I'm all for staying in the shadows, but having city guards jump up every time they hear Garrett's footsteps in the middle of a street full of people walking is just... weird.
Oh and no stupid blue-fog loading zones.
