If Thief IV had to be in the future, could a 1930s-like setting work ? - by Petike the Taffer

The world cyborg just made me imagine a Thief-Shadowrun like setting.
The factions evolved into big greedy corporations that control every aspect of society. The hammerites control weapon and tech companies. The new mechanists at Karatech control nanotechnology and ciborg implants.
There´s still magic and magical creatures. The Hand is an occult sect of mages lusting for dark powers, searching for the legendary book of Ash.
The pagans are now ecoterrorists, specialised on genetic and biological warfare.
The Keepers have lost their balance. They´re now mercenaries, shadowrunners. Their stealth is availiable to the hightest bidder.

Wow, that's a great design for the 30's Thief, great work Gambit.
I would definitely play it.

"After the rampage of the Hag and the activation of the Final Glyph, the Keepers left The City, no one knows where. Those, who got delayed, were sent to prison by a kangaroo court of the City Watch for crimes they didn't commit. These men and women succesfully escaped from a maximum security stockade and hid in The City's underground. Today, still wanted by the Baron and the corrupt police force, they survive as soldiers of fortune...
If you are in trouble, if no one else can help, and if you can find them... maybe you can hire... the K-Team !" :laff: :laff:  :thumb:

"Keeper Baracus, your temper unbalances you."
"Elder Smith, the pity I have for these fools unnerves me."

Hey, if the Fellowship of the Ring can do it...

...then why not the Keepers as well ? :thumb:

BTW, if I'll find enough time to draw some Thief-inspired illustrations in the upcoming weeks, I'll try to create some concept art for this whole vision of "1930s Thief" as well... At least trying to give it a go... I might get some interesting results... If I'll have anything finished, I'll post it in this thread, just for the sake of order.

here's a quick (actually, it took longer than it should have) manipulation of some screen shots to give an idea of what the Electrolytes would look like. these turned out a bit neon, but I wanted highly visible colors, since they work in hazardous environments.
the only model changes would be the guards wrench and making lightning bolts for the doctor to fire - unless something suitable exists in-game already?

I would have a request for anyone interested :
How would you name Garrett's flechette rifle in a possible "1930s Thief" ?
I mean brand and so on... Are there any company brands specializing in machinery mentioned anywhere in the 3 games ? Hints are welcomed ! Thanks.

Thank you. Come to think of it... Are there any references to specific craftsmen ? Any would do...
Otherwise I'll name it appropriately for the pulpy-cheesy vibe of 1930s sci-fi tech : "The Flech-o-matic ZX 2000 Marksman Special" :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky: ;)
