Also, Halo came out for PC a year before Manhunt.

Wow dude, awesome find.
Funnily enough, I just bought original copies of Bioforge and Descent II off eBay within the last month for $6.50 and $5.50 respectively. Hopefully they are worth the money. ;)

Grab a joystick and set it on Ace and Descent II is well worth what you paid.

Joystick? D2X-Rebirth does the job just as well with mouse look and WSAD/standard FPS keys (eg jump for up, LCtrl for down, Q+E for yaw).
I wouldn't bother with D2X-XL though, the author stopped releasing his work publicly because he's a total arsehole (on top of being a whiny bitch). He also refused to support 64-bit OSes and Vista.

Just out of curiosity, I know nothing about the situation, how can anyone be labeled a total arsehole in an open source project? If you disagree with him, compile your own version.
On topic:Seriously nice deal you struck there, Henri.
BioForge won't run without emulation under Windows, I tried for years. DosBox does the trick fine.
Oh, and (
http://www.revolution.co.uk/_display.php?id=16) Beneath a Steel Sky is official freeware. Still, it's always nice to own the CD and the box; does it have a manual?

Yeah most of the games won't work on modern PCs... That's why I have my good ol' Pentium 166, Voodoo 2. :cheeky:
I'm aware that Beneath A Steel Sky was released as freeware (that's how I heard from the game actually) but it's really nice to have a physical copy of it, especially if it's a big box like this. I just love collecting stuff.

dosbox, duh
EvaUnit02 on 23/8/2008 at 02:53
I don't see the point in maintaining a legacy computer. With the aforementioned Dosbox, all of the old titles that I've tried work fine.
It might take me 40mins or so to do a clean install of Thief 1/2 or SS2, but I'll be able to enjoy them at a resolution of 1680x1050 or higher in glorious 32-bit colours, with true 16:10 horiz+ support, AF and 4xAA.

Well, DosBox isn't perfect.
Some of the rarely used features of the VGA standard just aren't supported, so some older games, especially those that were ported from the Amiga, won't run or will only run using the 320x200 resolution while the original game supported 320x400.
AFAIK the only way to run those is using a legacy system.
