As with all suggestions, lots of good ideas here. I hope at least one of the FM masters out there picks up on this theme and makes a mission.
Maybe a mission contest? 24 hours? I was surprised by the quality of the 48 hour FMs. Maybe one based on TV show 24 hours and built in 24 hours? That is insane fast, but I bet at least 5 or more FM'rs out there could do it with there arms tied behind their backs :joke:

I've been messing around with this particular idea for an FM/Contest for quite a while now, it's not original and it wouldn't suit a lot of taffers but, here it is....

The premise is, the undead have taken over the city and Garrett is short on resources. Food is at the top of his shopping list, collect enough for him to survive while dodging hordes of flesh craving ghouls!
Inspired by games/movies like Resident Evil/Silent Hill/Night of the Living Dead and so forth.

@bjack's suggestion of a FM contest based on TV shows - I second that!
I think the
Blackadder series would be fun with Garrett as the protagonist, and Basso as Baldrick. A cynical opportunist who manages to increase his own fortunes and position, all set in awesome time periods and environments!

even more bizarrely.....Star Trek, but instead of Captain J Kirk going round the universe doing good and upholding the Honour of mankind....turn him into an inter-planetary pirate; looting, ransacking and causing general mayhem

Speaking of darker, more realistic visions of the future-I think an Aliens movie themed level would be awesome with New Dark's capabilities, you could play a colonial marine that gets separated from his unit (or one of the many versions of Bishop) and has to get through a seemingly abandoned colony on a distant world, only to find it isn't as unoccupied as you think! If someone could engineer a workable pulse rifle and motion tracker into Thief-I think this would be a great one to make!:thumb:

Also, as much as I could go on about nostalgic old games or shows, the ones I would talk about wouldn't fit the Thief setting. Instead of that, a book pops into my head. While being in some kind of ambiguous, 20XX setting, the part where Guy Montag attempts to
sneak his way to a river to evade the police, firemen, and the second Hound in Fahrenheit 451 pops into my head. That would probably be better suited for a Deus Ex 1 FM, though. :rolleyes:
