Hmm, I love the photos on that site. (Shame about the 'mystery meat' navigation on the photo wheel, though.)
(
http://users.pandora.be/a-p/cheratte02.htm) This page was especially sobering. Why is there a dead girl in the showers? What was she doing there? How did she die?
We'll never know.

If you read the FAQ, I think that's his girlfriend. He mentions her "modeling" in a few shots and specifically mentions her "taking a shower". You been had. ;)
However, places like that could easily be the site of Very Bad Things. Drug deals, murders, suicides, you name it.

Excellent.
And the nightmares are back.
The Cradle remembers me. It won't let go...

You've definitely gotta fall in love with this guy for his adventurous explorations of abandoned places all over Europe. I think it was Morrgan who had a link on her site which I found several months ago that introduced me to "Abandoned Places". A must-bookmark for any self-respecting Thief fan :thumb:.
Ha ha, I'm very glad that wasn't really a 'dead body' in the showers; I read that post, clicked the link, scrolled down to the bottom, and almost freaked out from the implications (among other things, wondering how he could have easily walked away from such a discovery, in an abandoned building, without having a steel will or being traumatized beyond repair) :tsktsk: ... I think he deserves a good blackjacking for that one ^_^. It's cool he offers viewers to purchase whatever photos they want, though I'd still rather like it if bigger versions were provided on the website to begin with.
Heh, mol ;)
deadman.

Pretty freaky stuff. But some shots were obviously set up. BUt it's cool to see some real world connects to something like the Cradle. Null sure did his research and took it to the extreme.

Thread necromancy time...sorry, but I have to post this now that I've finally come across it again.

THIS is the real Cradle, people.

Ahhh crap, I want to explore that orphanage so bad. I read "Georgian" and I started getting pumped, but it was only a description of the style, not the setting. It's in New York. Damnit.
EDIT: Ah, I was under the impression it had only partially burnt, enough left to explore.
