Baldur's Gate never succeeded at creating a coherent, living world in the way that the Ultimas did, though. If you could combine a world like Ultima's Britannia that feels as alive as Rockstar's best creations with the party interaction of Baldur's Gate II and the skills system of New Vegas, that'd be an RPG dream come true.

Rage filled post #1:
Mario and Luigi Partners in Time is not better than Witcher 2 in any way shape or form. It also barely belongs on this list, being the worst Mario RPG thus far.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is the best Mario RPG yet released and deserves a higher spot. The fact that it is one spot above the Partners in Time means that I'm sure we will see the rest of the series showing up higher in the list.
Why is FFTA on the list at all? It also does not deserve its spot.
And a disappointing placement for Ultima 7.

I think it's the first time I actually agree with every single word in a post.

Agreed, FFTA was terrible both in terms of ridiculous story and broken gameplay mechanics. Shame, original FFT is still bomb tho.

Seconded. Even though I played FFTA to the end I felt from beginning to end that it was an inferior sequel.
And god damn was the encounter rate annoying. The story was terrible also.

Never saw the big attraction to FFT. Half hour unavoidable random battles, annoying magic mechanics, a difficulty curve that jumped around like jackrabbit on meth, and l i t t l e m o n e y just to prove that Squaresoft doesn't feel the need to use your time well.

Even in the original game the level scaling ANNOYED the hell out of me. Other than that it's an awesome game.
Disgaea on the other hand took pretty much everything that I did like about FFT, threw out the level scaling, added in a truckload of humour and nearly endless gameplay (since you could go into your weapons, battling enemies to level them up). Loved Disgaea alot more than FFT. Hard as nails but it's a game aimed at hardcore gamers, so that's fine by me.

Double post. Final Fantasy 6 the best rpg of all time? Hmmm. I've played it and I did enjoy it. But best rpg of all time over all others? No. Though I can't really settle on what was THE best rpg of them all. Hell my answer would change on a daily basis.

What a wonderfully predictable list

At least they picked 6 and not 7... though I love 7.
