Go and play it, its awesome!
Has replay value like Cave Story, lots of secret bits and pieces to get.
It has logs like SS2, but unlike SS2 some of them change depending on what you do!
You can upgrade different weapons types, weapon power, hacking/modify (called cracking) health etc.
There are a few top-secret abilities, one of them is a nanofield reboot (lets you respend all your points, but leaves you nearly dead) so don't worry too much about how you spend your points, although you won't get that skill till nearly the end of your first play-through.
Also the story depends a bit on how many enemies you kill, if you are pacifistic or a berserker killing all in your path.
I still can't find all the hidden posters though. Better get back to looking!
(Psst, pro game, go play, now!)
(and I know Nameless posted it in the free games thread, but no-one replied and its awesome enough to deserve its own thread.)

Wow, someone actually did notice me talking about Iji in the freebie thread.
So that's what a nanofield reboot does...I take it that I won't find the log until I get to Sector X, though. (I found the logs for teching and retribution already.)
Anyway, I'm at Sector 9, so it won't be long before I complete my first run (berserker/Rambo/Terminator style), provided that things don't get too difficult all of a sudden. After this run finishes, I'll go through it a second time in pacifist mode (though I'm wondering if it's possible to NOT kill Elite Krotera in order to keep the truce, or if he's one of the two meatbags that you have to kill no matter what).
Oh, and this game is full of twists, particularly one at the end of Sector 8 that can be influenced by whether or not you have a certain item by then. (Perhaps I spoiled too much...)

Now I suddenly feel guilty for ignoring the logs during the latter half of the game.
..What? There's just too many of them:(

I played the first level of it. Eh, it seems like the kind of shooter where you have to care about the story to enjoy it, which is all well and good if the story is engaging. But judging from the intro and first level, that's just not the case with Iji, and reading all the logs just felt like a chore.

Interesting game. Kinda reminds me more of Blackthorne actually.
Is there another way to avoid fights than just walking/jumping past enemies?

I liked it at first, but when I realized you can't shoot while you are jumping, it was definitely a no go for me.
Fuck that shit. No limitations please.

There are quite a few secret areas where the "can't shoot while jumping" is part of the puzzle. If you could shoot while jumping it would be rather easy to get to all of them!

Okay, I just ran into Krotera. Unless the game goes completely downhill after that, I guess it's safe to say that this game is proof that a game doesn't need cutting-edge graphics as long as the gameplay itself is solid. Gotta love those physics...
Again, one question remains: is stealth actually possible? It seems rather hard to avoid firefights in this game.

I haven't tried the game, so it may be worth it regardless, but not being able to shoot while jumping sounds really sucky to me too. Yeah so they worked it in later on and/or balanced the game play accordingly, but so. They also used to make FPS games where you couldn't jump, doesn't mean I want to go back and play them nowadays, it's ridiculous.

I think the thread title needs "with MSPaint". I mean goddamn, that's one ugly game.
