Sure it is. You just look ridiculous while doing it. :p
Anyway, I don't think realism is the issue when you're talking about a platformer. Usually, not being able to shoot while jumping would be considered an oversight, but Iji's been clearly designed to make that part of the experience. If nothing else, it makes the combat seem a little more tactical.

Just downloaded it and I've been having a blast for the last couple of hours. The story seems interesting, although the writing is quite poor and I don't like the constant breaking of the 4th wall ("where is the pause button lolz!"). The actual gameplay however is great fun and I'm really digging the bonehead metal tunes. Just the right kind of music for kicking someone through a window.

Common instant-hit weapons have also the habit of being highly inaccurate in the hands of enemies,
lowering the chances of getting hurt badly.
I've bolded the important part. I want the opportunity to avoid every single goddamn bullet fired at me, otherwise I don't consider it particularly skill based, but more like an RPG that you just spend time "levelling up" on. Not my cup of tea.

Not my cup of tea.For someone who has virtually no interest in this game, you spend an awful lot of time posting on this freakin' topic.

I've just finished playing though Iji. Overall it's entertaining, but it has a couple of flaws that bugged me. First off was the strength stat. It seems that no matter how high you get the stat, you still deal the same damage to enemies when you kick them as you did when you're at level 1. All the stat seems to do is affect what doors you can kick down. Edit: Nevermind, there was some kinda glitch, it's working right now. Also, you can't kick while in motion, which is very restrictive.
Then there's the weapons. Or more precisely, the lack of weapons that can shoot in any direction other than horizontally. There were plenty of times while I was playing where a simple grenade would have made things so much easier, but instead I had to jump down into the midst of a pack of baddies to engage them, getting mauled in the process. Ok, I can see that it's part of the gameplay mechanic to be this way, but I think it stinks.
And lastly, the fact that you're stuck playing at 800x600 resolution kinda sucks. It looks terrible on my widescreen monitor. There shouldn't be any good reason for this.

Well, the nuke hits everything on screen if you want to kill things above/below you. Or you can jump down, shoot, and jump up again.
There is a grenade gun, which fires an explosive charge which bounces a bit, then explodes in a MPFB Devastator explosion. It is "hidden" though, and rather hard to get! (and also not really worth using apart from novelty value)
With high Str and the HyperPulse you can keep most enemies stunned while you kill them with ease, if you want to jump into a pack of them and kill them all.

I'm bumping this topic because I've just finished a savegame editor for Iji. You can get it at (
http://home.comcast.net/~gearheadgeek/Ijihax.zip)
It can edit pretty much everything in the save file, even the stuff I haven't figured out the function of. It should be straightforward to operate, but if anybody has any questions, just ask.
Now, I've tried to make this as bug free as possible, and have tested it a great deal, but I can't check every little combination of settings against Iji, it would just take too much time. Use at your own risk, and remember to back up your ijisave.sav file
before you go screwing around with it!

Hi, I have coded myself a savegame editor for Iji. I think it would be a waste not to share it with you, so here goes:

Oh hey, long time no see, thread.
I played Iji. Damn it was bad. The story was something like out of a fanfic. I also laughed heartily at the ham-handed suggestions that I shouldn't really kill the robots who slaughtered the entire complex since they're not really the bad guys.
