I think we've demonstrated this with TDM.
One big advantage is seeing larger Missions being made for PC, without the limitations of a Console.
Too bad Thief III had load zones on a heavily armed PC.
EDIT ~ Also, boarding ladders to climb them and no rope arrows gave a less fluid gaming environment.

Damn straight!

Oh please. T2X was good, and pulled off some interesting effects, but there was nothing evolutionary about it.

Honestly I think it's not quirte right to name it "evolution", it's just a good campaign, but not something special in terms of mission design, graphics, or story, there are many better FMs at that; movies, option screens, new inventory objects and new sound/music were excellent though.

But about COSAS - there are some evolutionary things.
For example, the new lockpicks.
Or when Dante is typing on his map.

The key ring as well.

Face it dood, the T3 people sold the series down the river.
'Tis an utmost shame, yet it is reality.
No, the so called Thief "fans" sold it down the river. Back in 2004 fans had decided to hate the game before it came out when they learned that the rope arrow wasn't included in DS.

Good point.

It's not the fans' job to like something. It's the product's job to be liked.
Do we really need to explain these things to you?
