No, the so called Thief "fans" sold it down the river.
Look pal !
Thief is a PC game. Those damn T3 people went and stole it from us, while Warren was pumping the PR machine with sayings like, "We won't change it because of Consoles". And what happens? A game with loading zones on a computer with a gig of ram. *I* had no part in the "selling of Thief down the river". They made so many damn concessions to the game I wonder why they even bothered to release it to the true fans, the PC users. Not only that, but they couldn't even get the Console version right! How can you be a Master Thief when you can't even control the difficulty settings!?!

Enough with all the Thief 3 complaints, jeez. Look, the game's been out for two years. For two years people have been whining and complaining about it. That's not going to change what it is, or how it was made. Either you like it, or you don't. I happen to enjoy playing the game and for me, that's all there is to it.

Complaints did change TDS, after two years and for the next two years hopefully. As a direct result, we now have minimalist project, enhanced editor, and even dark mod, etc. Advanced players should have the right to demand more challenges and not just a game for beginners. Ion Storm bet heavily on a market of beginners who love eye candy and never played thief before to notice anything missing. Very sad.

Ok, here's my update for those who are interesested.
The game HAS GOT BETTER. I am looking forward to getting back into it (my computer with the game is in my parents house which I onlyever visit at the weekends!) BUT I don't (as has been mentioned) understand or appreciate the parts where you have to leave an area an reload for the other part of the house, City etc) as far as I can remember some of the levels in the original games were huge and no loading during games (though it seems form other posts to be connected to xbow etc).
I still miss the black and white prelevel intros.
I'm at the stage where I'm trying to stoptime ;) Hope that not a spolier for any newbies which lets face it I must be in that group regarding T3.
SO yes it is getting better and I'm not a can't teach a dog new tricks kinda guy but I stil (so far) think it lacks the feel of the previous especially Dark Project. Don't know how this game ends but I hope for a T4.
New Horizon Thanks for the download which I haven't used yet. I want to play this through as the designers intended, give my opinion for what it's worth then I will play it again using your download.
Like the gloves but LOVE the rope arrows:)

Glad you're enjoying it :thumb:. The best parts of the game, both gameplay wise and storywise, are yet to come. No doubt you'll love the ending when you reach it as well, it's a great one.

The last levels are pretty good, but it amazes me that after all these years a franchise takes a step back. My greatest grief is the horrible AI, what have they been doing all that time...

Not enough, obviously. I hate them all. Intensely.

Actually, I think that a controler works better for a game like thief. You can move at exactly the speed you want instead of either running or walking. They just shouldn't have compromised the pc version in favour of console kiddies like myselve :p
