Yeah the AI hasn't really improved that much. i set a mine to blow open a door usinga broadhead (yes I know it wasn't very subtle;) ). There were guards nearby and two of them came running shouting "I heard that" I just smiled. So they search around for a bit then as the last one is walking off he says "Must have been one of the other guards" What!:tsktsk: Since when do guards go around setting of exposive mines. Could have been worse he couold have said "Must have been rats":)

Yes, must have been one of the other guards doing some blast-mining again.
Don't worry, in TDM we have special considerations for people reacting to extra strange situations.

Complaints did change TDS, after two years and for the next two years hopefully. As a direct result, we now have minimalist project, enhanced editor, and even dark mod, etc. Advanced players should have the right to demand more challenges and not just a game for beginners. Ion Storm bet heavily on a market of beginners who love eye candy and never played thief before to notice anything missing. Very sad.
OK the editor was a result of an appeal, not a complaint.
Your statement of T3 being for beginners is very much an opinion, maybe you should play through on Very Hard if you found it too easy. So your comment on "right to demand more challenges" is invalid.

They were talking about the 'enhanced' editor that I released a few weeks ago. It was definately the result of complaint.

Hardly an opinion, since regardless of how you scale the game, it's barely challenging. The originals are far more challenging on expert than TDS. It was made to appeal to an audience who had never played Thief before, silent creeping and crouching, and numerous other little design decisions to ensure new players wouldn't become frustrated with T3 and give up. Had a lot of these 'hand holding' features been removed at higher difficulty levels, then the game obviously would not have been catering to the casual gamer.

I don't see how anyones right to demand more challenges can be invalidated. That's a rather preposterous statement.

I love the game along with the previous two. Shoot me.

Is that a dare or a plea?

Enough with all the Thief 3 complaints, jeez. Look, the game's been out for two years. For two years people have been whining and complaining about it.
At least that shows that TDS is indeed bad. :ebil:
If TDS were just 'new', people would have stopped complaining after some time and see the good things about it. Apparently this isn't the case, so the complaining continues.
Is it really already two years? Wow! Time indeed flies by...

I did. I even played it with ramped up AI settings with that ThiefBot app, that fixed the save bug. I still found it pretty easy to beat, though.
