I am a HUGE Thief fan and I love the forum and its discussions.
But what on earth is:
Dark MOD?
Drome ED?
Thief 2X?
FM's?
Someone please tell me what these are :(

The (
http://www.mindplaces.com/darkmod/) DarkMod is a Modification for a thief-game based on the Doom-Engine. You need the original Doom 3 to play, as far as I know. The mod is not finished yet.
DromEd is a thief-editor. You can built your own thief1 or thief2- fanmissions by it and play them via darkloader.
There is an editor for thief 3 too (which is based on the unreal engine, not on the original dark engine. That is why dromed did not work with thief 3).
You can play Thief-3-fanmissions by garrett loader.
You'll find most information about these things on (
www.thief-thecircle.com).
Thief 2x is a huge Fanproject which was finished some time ago. You need Thief 2 to play it. The link on thecircle is not current anymore, but there should be other mirrors to download it.
FMs are Fanmissions, built by fans for fans. They have their own stories to tell and do not continue the series. You might see them as side-quests. Partly they are huge and most of them worth playing. ;)

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48202) FAQ there. FMs have greatly extended the lives of T1 and T2 - there are now probably around 700 FMs that have been released. Most of them are available at (
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/) The Circle or (
http://thiefmissions.com/) Thiefmissions. You'll need Darkloader to play FMs for T1 and T2, and Garrettloader for T3 FMs.
The T2 FMs alone should keep you busy for months! :cheeky:

Some FMs do actually hook into the story and canon of the original games.

Click the T2X link in my signature to go to the T2X site. It's a 13 mission fan made 'expansion' pack with a new character that takes place in The City roughly between the end of The Dark Project, and into the first half of The Metal Age.
