I'm not paranoid but I think they are out to get me. - by Myne_space

Well now, I am not really a conspiricy theorist, but then again, after playing Deus Ex how can you not be, at least a little bit?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the game the "Terrorist" bombing of The Statue of Liberty prompted the froming of UNATCO, the United Nations Anti-Terrorist Coalition. UNATCO was a multi-national military conglomerate with almost unlimited authority to deal with Terrorist attacks, where "Terrorist Attack" was largely defined by them. Of course, the world of Deus Ex is a bit more dreary than our own, a bleak future we may see (who knows?)
But now we have a massive terrorist attack on the US, and president Bush asks Congress for permission to use force to fight terrorism; not only against those responsible but also terrorists in general. Now congress did grant the 'Functional Equivilent' of a declaration of war (*cough* Veitnam *cough*) but only to take out the fokers who crashed those planes. But I don't think this is the last we'll hear about Winning the War against terrorism in general, and Bush is asking all our allies to help in this fight. Can the real-life incarnation of UNATCO really be that far behind? Remember, the game is based on actual conspiricy theories; its not just made-up bull to entertain and make money (well, not totally anyway).
Oh well, what do you all think? Am I the only one who is worried? Or are all Americans blinded by fury and rage? <IMG SRC="wot.gif" border="0">

"Based on real-life conspiracy theories"
Which, of course, are all well thought-out and grounded in solid facts.

See now that's typical.
Regardless of the actual theories that spawned the game, can you really deny something Deus Ex predicted seems to be coming true in real life?
