To driver: Not a specific person, this isn't the pre-crime department. I'm saying that France (any Western nation, really) has no obligation to allow ANYONE in. Including Muslims. People act like we HAVE to let folks in, "because human rights" or something.
If there is to be immigration, it should be on the host country's terms ONLY. As in, if you're from a country or culture that conflicts with ours (i.e. your people tend to cut little girls' clits off), or if you're a risk to go on the dole, then no thanks. Please get back on the next plane out, STAT.
An immigration policy should be tailored to benefit the native people of that country. "Because my home country sucks" isn't a good reason. You're going to bring the culture that makes your home country suck, into MY country and make it suck too.
It seems that most Western nations have this backwards, as in anyone can come in unless we have a specific report that you're part of Al-Qaeda, Isis or some other terror organization. Well, you can't catch them all that way. And even if they aren't blowing you up or shooting cartoonists, they are cutting off little girls' clits in their own neighborhoods. Which sucks.

You know, Krush, out of all the attacks that have been made on me and there have been quite a few in various parts of the world, not one was by a person of a different colour, none were because of religion though one might have been because of nationalism, it was impossible to know but guess what, they were all by men, white men. So, let's ban all white men. Seems like a good idea to me.
Which is obviously ridiculous. I don't see your proposal as any different. You don't know and you can't tell who is going to be dangerous and harm you and who isn't. It's only actions that prove that, not religion, colour or any other excuse to demonize people.
I do support the right of any country, let's say China or Sierra Leone, to ban white men from that country (for whatever reason). Because
it's their country. They can make that decision if they choose to. Make sense?
I also think that if a European country decides to ban North Africans for whatever reason, then fine. Because the native British, Germans or French should be able to decide what is best for themselves, in their own countries.

There is a lot of anti-Muslim sentiment rising in Germany, and in France the Front National party is rapidly gaining voters. Not sure what's going on with Nigel Farage, the UKIP and other right-leaning parties in the UK, maybe you can enlighten me nickie?
I think that Muslims living in Europe will have some tough choices to make soon. They should disavow the violence and really assimilate to become "real" French/German/Italian etc, or simply be expelled back to the middle east.

Krush, you're ignorant and probably a bit stupid as well, so I'm just going to ignore you. You're not any kind of threat because people like you are still thankfully in the minority and there's no risk that any of the things you propose are likely to become policy here. If anything, your comments are kind of comforting because of the contrast they give to how most people over here think and feel.
The amusing irony is that the most prominent target of Charlie Hebdo's satire is the National Front and the Le Pen family, which are political idiots promoting exactly the kind of "fear everyone who doesn't look and act like me" silliness you are spouting. If you don't like progressive society, how about you move to somewhere which espouses your preferences more closely like, oh I don't know, 1930s Germany.

This wouldnt have happened if we didnt let new posters in. We should just ban them all. We're not obligated to let new people register just because internet rights.

I'm not sure that discussing reasons for this attack or possible preventative measures, abhorrent or otherwise, is doing that. But taking your comment on board (as they say), I've looked at splitting the thread but tbh I'm not sure where to start and what to include. And, as the last time I tried to do that I managed to delete an entire thread, I don't think I should be doing it anyway. Perhaps Al could look at it.

I just can speak for myself... Stupidity, kindness, intelligence and all these things that compose a human have nothing to do with a country or another. Frontiers do not stop birds, and also the rest...
only lines on a map... I have never felt a lots of patriotism here. Is it good, is it bad... I don't know. What is sure, I feel freedom. And the only thing I wanna "fight" (and not with gun :)) for is freedom. My neighbour is a person. His nationality, religion, I don't care. But if he takes a gun to shoot a person, if he thinks he can decide who has the right to live or not, this will make me really angry. And I would not admit any political or religion's reasons, it's too easy and the problem is not here. Education, what parents teach to their children, respect, it's certainly where we have to search first. We have all to learn from each others, and mixing cultures is interesting and opens minds. Stop this will be the most stupid decision !

Apparently the print run for the current issue of Charlie Hebdo has been bumped up to 5m (it's usual was 60k) as most sellers ran out within minutes of opening. That's one in the eye for those trying to silence satire in France.

. First Europe welcomes thousands of jihadis in the name of multiculturalism , then it floods the streets with thousands of troops in order to control them.
A better strategy might have been - don't let them in, in the first place.
Wow, heck load of false truths here...
In France, it's a bit more complicated than that due to its colonies in the past time. After WW2, France needed labor to reconstruct the country and there wasn't enough people. France had many colonies like Algeria, Vietnam, etc... So they recruit people from those countries (that were french at this time and they fought with the Allies in WW1 and WW2).
Then there was the Algerian war between the French colonialists and the algerian independantists in 1954. There were a lot of tensions in France. Some people from Algeria supported France and they stayed in France after the end of the war.
So you see, the immigrants had come for work here or as refugees some 50 years ago !
It's a general picture I give you here but you can see my point.
