Very amusing thread. Instantly added to the archives, I'm sure . But tell me this, who is Bruce Campbell? Also, you are too naive for your own good, SithLord2001, if you honestly think they'd follow any kind of plot line even somewhat related to the games. Oh my, that's like expecting them to actually do a Thief III site similar to Deus Ex 2's one! :laff:
deadman.

Bruce Campbell: (

I like his acting. He does a lot of B movies, But maybe you remember him from tv as "Autolycus the King of Thieves" in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys or in Xena: Warrior Princess?
Brisco County Jr.?
One of his latest that was on the Scifi channel was good. "Terminal Invasion".
I went to one of his independant film screenings, Bubba Hotep, in hollywood last year.
He's pretty funny in person. I like Bruce. Also, Sam Raimi showed up and heckled him through the Q&A and said that after seing THAT movie, Bruce was no longer invited to do Spiderman II. :p Bruce fired back that Sam wouldn't be allowed in his next indy so there!

Guy can be funny. But if he could act, and has such a cult following, don't you think he would have gotten an legitiment big budget film by now?
Although, I will admit to liking Brisco County Jr., at least until the whole "criminals from the future" thing came into play. I liked it better as a straight western, not "Back to the Future 3."

i tell you who would be a good character for the role of garret Nigel Bennett. he has a role of an evil dude in a program called lexx, go look it up.:p
BEAR on 20/11/2003 at 15:37
What about Tim Roth? Not as garrett mabey but he does a good dark evil guy. Dont we Theif fans make up alot of the people who would even see it(possably many times if its good)? So you would think they would at least TRY to please there more likly cutomers. Also you might as well go ahead and add Christopher Walken in there somewhere, cant go wrong with him. I beg of you eidos, make a decent movie, there are so few of them now days.

I'm sorry, but the innumerable complaints don't deter...I honestly think Edward Norton would be a compelling, if not exactly correct, actor to play the role of Garret. Then again, saying he doesn't look correct is kind of a throw away statement, as the few clear pictures of Garret's face aren't consistent with one another. Norton has the flexibility to pull off the attitude we're familiar with, let alone the complexion and slender figure that Garret has underneath his robe. On top of that, he's a plain great actor.
As for the suggestions for Sarah Michelle Gellar being casted for the roll of Viktoria...no way in hell. She's not that good of an actress, and to tell you the truth, there are better looker women out there. :ebil: Same with Angelina Jolie...while she is obviously more well proportioned, I don't think she would be able to exhibit it all that well for the roll. I mean, Viktoria was conveyed as a having a gothic flair with her druidic nature, and I'm sure someone like Balluci could be done up to look more appropriate.

"and I'm sure someone like Balluci could be done up to look more appropriate."
Hardly. The woman can't act, and would stumble all over her lines. Looking good and actually acting are two different things.
And Sarah Michelle Gellar can act, she just prefers goofy roles.

As if there's only two choices, hot or good actor, these traits are mutually exclusive...
They should just go find the ugliest, least successful "talent" that's out there and get them some work!
Alternatively, they can just get pretty people, make sure the costumes are tight and skimpy and just watch the money roll in!

Aside from Steve Buscumi it just occured to be that Geoffrey Rush could play Karras.
Actually I think Edward Norton would be better off as Basso the Boxman; seems more his speed.
Someone mentioned Christian Bale as Garrett, which I think would be very apropos. Maybe even James Spader, though he's getting a bit on in years.
Holly Hunter should play Lt. Mosley.
Marlon Brando could play Cutty, since the role would require little of him aside from weazing, weaving, and dying.
Sure Sarah Michelle Geller could star in it; maybe as Diane, one of Viktoria's ( non-speaking ) Pagan aides, where she could do the least harm.
