I think Garrett will best fit in the skin of Sean Bean (the guy who plays Boromir in Lord of the Rings: Felloship of the Ring). Think about it! :erg:

damn... Thief the movie... that would be sick.
but i dont know how they'll pull it off. Thief has a very artistic style, as displayed in the cutscenes.
Thief on broadway would be cool, i think. some cool costumes and stage lighting. soliloquies and monologues, it would be awesome. but how likely is that... :(
Also, i think if this movie had tobie maguire and was in anyway trying to jump on the comic book and video game movie bandwagon, it would be awful.
Thief isn't tomb raider. there is actual substance to the story.
further, these comic book movies lack artistic merit and pander to the mainstream. That means pg-13, alt rock/ nu metal soundtrack, and lots of clean shaven faces.
thief definitely needs an industrial metal soundtrack (like the music found in the cutscenes) mixed with classical for the gothic motif.
they need to put this project in the hands of a less conventional director, like the guy who did Mulholland Drive (ok, the movie shouldnt be that fucked up).
OR better yet, the guy who did Waking Life. if u havent seen it, it was an artsy movie. many scenes were filmed in live action, and then drawn over or modified using an overlay of the same feed cell shaded. It was kind of a head trip movie, but very cool. I think thats the style thief should have, to be true to its roots. Have live action drawn over with art along the lines of those found in the thief cutscenes, obviously not to the cartoonish extent of waking life, but rather, a darker, more twisted motif.
the waking life guy could definitely do some awesome work with the thief idea, i'll bet.
still, thief on broadway would be pretty sweet. maybe even a musical, though thats a stretch.
