i was serious. if written, composed, and executed well it would be amazing.
Perhaps a joint collaboration between Andrew LLoyd Weber and Ministry might get the job done on the musical side.

Johnny Depp as Garrett - there's no question of his acting ability and he's the perfect match
for a director in
Terry Gilliam Gilliam hands down creates the best
dusty technology look bar none. His style matches the goofy tech of the Builders.

Tobey is TOO YOUNG and TOO NICE for this role. I love him dearly, but he is wholly miscast if he is put up for the part. If we must have a Spiderman star, then let it be Franco (Harry.)
Johnny Depp, Sean Bean with a shave, Anthony Michael Hall with hair dye... you know what? I love all those choices. Depp in particular, though... that would make for a very interesting Garrett. I'm sure he would make the character intriguing. He just has a way with finding the right mannerisms to evoke a specific personality.
Viktoria... Angelina Jolie is the one I would expect them to seek, but I could also suggest Catherine Zeta Jones and Famke Janssen. All decent actresses, all dark and alluring in some respect.
Anthony Hopkins is still Constantine. That's the one actor I would insist on. Not even Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen could do that role for me; Anthony Hopkins IS Constantine.
I seriously do not believe these rumors, though. It's ridiculous. Thief is nowhere near the popularity of Tomb Raider; as of now, there's no chance of a movie. Somebody's on crack, I'm telling you!

I still think the movie should be whole made of 3D animations...
I don't thing if that would work :erg: but think of it...
And use good old Stephen to voice Garrett...
That would be nice and right...

I've said all my suggestions before, but never really justified them. Here they are once more:
Garrett: Edward Norton is the only true "good" actor out there who can really fit Garrett. He is neither too old or too young, has good facial resemblance and a similar voice. Christian Bale is an alternative. I've only seen Equilibrium, but that was such an awesome movie. He also has the dark look and physical characteristics of Garrett. Hugh Jackman is awesome, but I don't think a stealth role suits him.
Viktoria: Christina Ricci. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned her. She always takes these dark, gothic roles, and has the long, black hair that is a necessity. The only problem is, she's a little young (I think around 25).
Constantine: I'm not really sure, but I'm leaning toward Jack Nicholson. With his demented Shining and Batman roles, his evil eyes and smile are perfect. Unfortunately, those movies were 15-20 years ago, and he hasn't aged well. Maybe a 5-star makeup job will get him back on the right track.
Karras: Steve Buscemi. Physically small and weak-looking, but can really play a mean mother, as evidenced in Fargo and Reservoir Dogs. If he can do the voice, he's a shoe-in. The only one I say is a definite for any role.
Others: I imagine Cutty to be older yet tough, so Christopher Lambert would suit him well. Ramirez-shady Hispanic character, how about John Leguizamo? If you've seen Empire, you'll agree. He'd probably be in one scene, in which he dies anyway.
Garrett OneEye on 14/2/2004 at 05:21
No, no, no.
==Alan Rickman==
could play Garrett brilliantly.
Sarcastic, detached. Slightly cruel. World-weary.
A definite presence.
He'd be great.
I admit, his age is an issue, but I think he could still pull it off.

Garrett=Russell Crowe
Karras=Hugo Weaving or Quentin Tarantino

It's a possibility. I've only seen one movie with Billy Zane in it though. It was The Phatom. Kit and Truart are nothing alike, but have roughly the same sort of style, only that Kit fought fair. How about that guy who played Drax for Constantine? He has the insanity role down and plaued a character that lusted for ancient artifacts! Christina could do it if she could get the voice.

Russel Crowe ? no, definately not. He is such a tool, and gladiator was a shit movie.
Eric Bana would play a good garret if you're into aussie's for the lead role, even though Crowe is a kiwi, thank god. Baaa!

Viggo Mortenson I'm thinking....
but they should just leave the damn thing alone. It's a great series..why kill it with a freaking crap hollywood film. Geezus they've ruid alot of good names already. And Toby...geeze he can't act to save his life and he looks like a pretty boy pez dispensor.
