what about the guy out of american physcho?
That's Christian Bale. I suggested him 10 minutes ago :D. And I agree Anthony Hopkins would make a great Constantine.

or maybe neo from the matrix! he's also got a fairly cool voice, but then again the viewers will probably still see him as neo
The guy's name is Keanu Reeves. (NEO)
But, I don't think he would be our Garrett.... Maybe, but I dunno.

All I can say is...
Daniel Day Lewis as Garrett. He would be absolutely perfect... and also impossible to acquire, considering he's pretty retired.

Just to comment on Stephen Russell - there's a photo of him (
http://web.archive.org/web/20010808162250/http://tidaltheatre.com/players.html) here.
Also, there was a video online a long while back showing him and other actors doing a radiodrama in a recording studio. I remembered him being quite tall and lanky in that, and looking somewhat older than he does in that pic. Also, from the voice he used in that recording session, you'd never guess he also did Garrett.

This is all so asanine.
hmm, low-budget film = low-budget actors, no Tobey, no Costner, no Britney (gaahhh!) etc. etc. = give it up.
I'd much rather they throw all their money (since that's what a movie would demand lots of) into more GOOD Thief games than some disaster of a film we'd all moan about for eternity. (We're already moaning...)
Why oh why do people make stupid movies...doesn't someone at some point in the process have the authority to say "For the love of God, STOP!"

The ambient stuff by Brosius & Co. is probably the most integral part of my Thief experience. The game was a bold experiment in game/art/sound design and if there ever has to be a movie, I sincerely hope it'll be made on the same basis.

Seein' as how it's about as likely as my posting a complete and error free reply, here's my thoughts on what would happen (not what I want to happen, mind)
David Spade plays Garret
Rob Schneider plays Karras
Hilarity ensues as Rob goes through the entire movie wearing an oversized metal helmet, while hapless thief Garret stumbles across an insidious plan to take over the City with small, annoying robots.
It all climaxes in an epic face-off between Schneider and Spade, encased in large robotic exo-skeletons. Garret wins when Karras's helmet jams the controls.
