I dunno, I thought his voice was pretty low in Batman. . god, I loved that movie. . parts of it actually reminded me of Thief. . .just the climbing up and down buildings, hiding in the shadows, etc. ..

Ralph Fiennes. Huh, Isn't that the guy from The Constant Gardener?
I can actually picture him as Garrett. One actor that I've seen mentioned as a good Garrett (I think it was on the Eidos forums) was Nicholas Cage. I think I can see it. If it were his voice and Ralph Fiennes looks then definately.
(Provided NC's voice was a little deeper) I'm sure the guy can voice act.
I remember rumors (again on the Eidos forums) from the man who played a hammerite in TDS-The one who was scared by the old hag as a child. that they were talking about a cg movie using the normal voice actors... Of course this was right when tds came out and I think that they wree expecting the game to sell a bit better.

He should keep his Welsh accent for the role.
"Aim jyst going to rob this hows now bois, ail be back in time for the Byrick Inn Rygbi Clyb's gaime against Pontypridd."
I would almost see it just for that. I'm thinking of Rhys Ifans for Garrett now... :D
I think Christian looks the part, and I like him as an actor. As for the voice... well, since Stephen Russell is so iconic for Thief fans, I think it would be a pretty cool twist for him to do the voice-overs for the film. Most actors record their lines again to be dubbed over the original film anyway, to give the dialogue a crisper sound - especially in action adventure, where there's usually too much stuff going on to hear properly. Having Stephen do it would probably mesh quite easily and certainly please a lot of fans.

I think Clive Owen would be my favorite for Garrett. Keanu Reeves is probably the most sensible (for a big-name actor) as a physical type.
Catherine Zeta-Jones would be Viktoria. Anthony Hopkins would play Constantine. Steve Buscemi would play the role of Karras. Davis Thewlis would play Gorman Truart. Audrey Tautou could play a masked servant. Etc.
Well, I couldn't stand the thought of big-name actors in a Thief movie, but Catherine Zeta-Jones would be the best choice for Viktoria.

You really need an eco-friendly, activist girl with a wicked bent and a history of playing video game heroines to play a deceptive, sexy tree-lass like Viktoria: Angelina Jolie.
