I found the walking in TDS really slow.
Should Garrett walk that slow in Thief 4 or should we have the option of making him work faster, in the settings.
Maybe he should only walk fast on easier difficulties?

I don't remember how fast the player is in TDS but the speed in T1/T2/TDM is just fine.
Of course the debate is stupid because we all know that T4 will end up having parkour and a super-fast, super-agile character.

Rollerblades with speed varied by scroll-wheel.

Garrett should only walk slow when walking away from an explosion.
Which he never looks at.

I can already picture him with his cloak being bloated by the shock wave...in slow motion.

For Subjective Effect's enjoyment Ha har! Suckaaaaaa!
Seriously, if they put in a slo-mo walkaway from an explosion that would be
great!

Definitely faster, like T1 and 2. The movement is TDS is abominable, it's the thing that pissed me off the most the first time I played it. It's like Garrett's crippled or something, or he's got his feet stuck in mud. I still can't play it without the Minimalist patch.

(Wow... it's really working  )
Player speed is one of those art verses science areas. Though you can certainly model realistic human locomotion, the feel of a game can be enhanced by a small boost in speed. We perceive speed to be much slower when we do not physically feel acceleration, momentum, etc. That is why FPS games of yore had multi-hundred MPH player speeds. Obviously, only a more subtle boost is needed for this genre.
