Well then I'm glad I'm a bit more optimistic. :)

Just because it's not the original team doesn't mean that a good story can't be written. Gene Roddenberry might be long dead, but J.J. Abrams apparently did a good job on the new Star Trek movie (not a big fan of Trek in general, but I read that it had a small preview somewhere in Europe to almost unanimous acclaim). What is important is an understanding of the storyline, a love for the characters and the setting, and talent at handling both adeptly.

Yep.
Personally, I believe it's possible, not probable. I know it can be done, but not one of us is qualified to say it will. Instead of "optimistic" I say "hopeful", because I don't believe that my private well-wishes will help their creativity or boost their education, skill levels, IQ, Wisdom modifier, or entertainment experience points, one whit. I don't believe my mind can override theirs. And the question was asked about others' votes who may have voted one thing because they don't believe it will happen. :cheeky:
It was also semi-rhetorical. But those I refer to that may have made their poll-choice out of incredulity, and not a direct vote for the exact choice given, but made their choice from an oblique perspective...are fee to pipe up, of course.

In this case I'm very pessimistic... :( I'm a big fan of Star Trek and so far he didn't impress me, at all... :erg: I wish they'd just bring back Enterprise or do a DS9 movie (even a direct-to-DVD movie would be lovely) instead.
Sorry for the OT.

There's a lot of Star Wars blended in, and I'm surprised we aren't hearing more about that.

On the contrary I'm sure that Stéphane D'Astous will read this thread (if he's not already readed) and will take inspiration from our choices, our votes. :thumb:

And, coming to the point, you, what you have voted? Don't tell me you've done this... :wot:

I voted "A new adventure with Garrett in the same old but good style" with the majority, because this is my wish, and I am hopeful they will surprise me in a good way.
The question was for others.;)

Yes. These words made the choice easy: "...in the same old but good style." :thumb:
